Stolen pony collection in Texas--how to identify and help get them back

This is horrid! I live up in Canada ponies are scarce but if I see anything I will let anyone know!
 
ahhhh omg!

O my gosh! I would completely freak out....ahhh my family knows better then to do anything like that! If I see any of them I will gladly send them back to her.....I feel for her....I remember when my sisters broke into my room when I was in high school and scribbled all over my ponies that I had been keeping nice!....i know its not the same but still!.....I posted the story on my pony page on facebook so hopefully that helps. These are now officially the "MES" ponies... Imagine a pony showing up every few months from who knows where on her doorstep. :) One can wish, anyway.
 
WOW. not what I was expecting to read......gave me chills. how very sad and upsetting.
 
she should have just called the cops on her in the first place, then she probably would have given in. if you KNOW which lady took the box of ponies, why let her get away!?

I'm not sure what laws are elsewhere but here in Texas once it's on the curb it's free game, the cops would not do anything. I just moved away from the area that this occured at, it was one of our (boyfriend and I) hobbies to drive around The Woodlands in the evening and pick up the curb freebies. In those rich neighborhoods people throw away things that are valuable or items that would just be wasteful to throw out in the first place (good toys, books, perfectly good furniture, house fixtures, etc). Of course, the woman was wrong for denying she took something, but as there was no proof there is no case for the cops.
 
I know this might be a streeeeetch, but...
Here, if you lose something to the rubbish, you can actually phone the local dump or provincial landfill and ask. My grans long-time friend recovered the foot part of a vintage clock the cleaners had mistaken for rubbish. Can't she MAYBE do the same, just to check and make sure?

Seriously, I hope she can get her collection back!
 
I can't believe the sons attitude was allowed to go that far. I would have kicked him to the curve and the cops could deal with him if he didn't want to go. Family or not i wouldn't have put up with that baloany. I really hope it's all false cause it's horrible. But i do wish all or at least most are saved.

That's awful. I remember last year the comics fandom had a similar issue when the massive Superman collection of a mentally impaired man who idolised Superman was stolen and sold! Everyone banded together and recovered a good amount of it, so hopefully that is the case here too.

I just put word out on the Cutie Mark Crusaders tumblr, and while a lot of the followers are exclusive FiM bronies, I do hope it will make some impact anyway!
 
That is terrible!! How many people would even know to steal ponies? My husband always jokes that there is nothing in our house for anyone to even want to break in and steal. And I always joke back, "well there is my hundreds of dollars worth of ponies!" But of course you never think anyone would even think to steal toys, even if they were to break in.
 
I'll keep an eye out as well. I live in Canada but buy internationally all the time. I'd be so angry if my brother did that to me.
 
MES really.... you know what i think i have seen a pony like that or a few at one of cousin friends house ... im sure of it because they had just recieved some ponies in the mail...but they had writting on one or two hooves. they where ponies in excellent condition...someone had paint the hoof and my cousin friend manage to make out something ...i wounder if it could be one of the missing ponies...i go check first thing tommorrow ! sad story same thing happened to me with plushies ...
 
That is just so terrible! But with us all hunting down the missing ponies I'm sure we will find at least a few of them, let's stay positive!
