so do we make one of each color or six of one assigned color and then one of another color? If we make one of each colorthen everyone can get a different one from everyone.

everyone will make all their cards in their assigned color. you will be making 6 cards for the 6 colors there are. because im distributing the cards to everyone so they get each color made by someone else, i will be left without my color, so i just wanted to know if someone else would be kind to make an extra card for me in my color.

This line confuses me. (and I'm so so sorry for being a dummy head, I just want to make sure I and if anyone else is confused, understand)

So will you be making rainbow cards as well? What is to keep the person who has yellow from getting their own yellow card, and the person with blue from getting their blue card, ect? It might in fact be easier if we each make a card for each color (each person makes a red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple card) and then gets a card of each color from someone else. I think if we have each person do only 1 color, everyone is going to miss out on a card that is the color they assigned.
 
ok, let me see if i can make this easy for all to understand. i think i got confused a bit too, but doing it this way should make it be easier to understand.

Red - ParadiseIsland will make 5 red cards, for the other 5 participants.
Orange - urocyonfox will make 5 orange cards, for the other 5 participants.
Yellow - lev_21n01 will make 5 yellow cards, for the other 5 participants.
Green - babyblueducky will make 5 green cards, for the other 5 participants, as well as additional colors missing from the other 5 participants, red, orange, yellow, blue and purple.
Blue - dragonkiss207 will make 5 blue cards, for the other 5 participants.
Purple - evilbunnyfoofoo will make 5 purple cards, for the other 5 participants.


does this make any more sense? otherwise we could change it to what star_flare said was done before. we each make one of each color of the rainbow and distribute it so everyone does get all the colors and done by someone else?

Thanks for clarifying, babyblueducky! My brain is so mushy now I have to have everything spelled out for me lately.

If you're a dummyhead, I'm right there with you, urocyonfox! :LOL: I think we just wanted to be super sure we had our facts straight before we got to work, that's all.

Aww BBD then you have to make so many! If we do where we each 1 card for each color of the rainbow then its less work for you and everyone else as well. (although it might be a little work to make sure no-one gets a card of their own, but should still be easier than you making 10 cards!
 
thats part of the perks of being the hostess. you do what you got to do to make the swap work out. that doesnt mean i get more cards cause i colored more, because we are only get total of 6 rainbow cards.

if it were you, would you complain having to make more? it means you get to draw and color more ponies. more fun, right?

UPDATE:
Guys I came across a HUGE problem with my color cards..... as it turns out a good bit of my favorite ponies are orange, and I watched midnight castle today and tried using its syle in my cards. So now I have the line art of 5 orange ponies and I absolutely LOVE them. Like so much so that it is going to be super super hard to give them up! I'm soooooo proud of these ya'll are gonna love them.

so the problem is giving them away! ha ha

scan them to make copies to print out for you to keep. i end up liking some of my cards and i have to give them up. it happens. i guess orange was meant to be your color. meaning everyone is getting an applejack, right?

everyone can get started on their cards if there are no more confusions or questions. i already drew up 5 green cards, havent done more than that. still got to think of what to do with the easter bunny. i have an idea, just need to see if i can do it on paper.

oh yes! I will be scanning these, they're so ridiculously simple and so ridiculously adorable. I'm not gonna lie I thought about making 5 different AJs but Gah there are so many awesome orange ponies I adore I couldn't resist the chance to draw them.

Got my Easter bunny ones drawn, lined and colored. I have to cut and glue some goodies on them.

Have some ideas for BBD green pony card but nothing set in stone yet.
 
Got my Easter Bunny lineart drawn out, now I just need to use the copier at work to shrink them to the right size and color them. Work doesn't mind that we use the copiers as long as we don't print out a book (someone did once!) or a big bunch of flyers. I always make a master copy of the lineart so I can use it again if I want.

I just put in a big order for some more markers. I hope they'll come in time for me to use some of them on this swap. :satisfied:

Where do you get your markers from? I've been thinking of upgrading from the sharpies and crayola markers I currently use but am unsure of what to get or where to get them. I Have like 3 prisma markers and 1 copic and both seem nice but they were sooooo expensive I dunno.

Art Supplies from **** Blick Art Materials

I use Prismacolors, the Prismacolors at **** Blick are $2.89 each, the cheapest I've found anywhere. I use Prismacolors in my non-ATC art too, so I can justify the cost to myself, lol. I used the last of a bonus my workplace gives out to everyone this time of year to get a bunch, some replacements and some brand new. I also use the fine line Sharpie markers, but I didn't get any this time 'round, I've got enough of those for now.

I find I use my Prismacolors most often when I need a really pale color. A lot of cheaper markers don't have any truly pale colors. The cap may look pastel but when you try it it's anything but!

Since I believe we eliminated pink for lack of people signing up and since red is a color seldom used on ponies, may I have a few of my ponies be pink, or at least pinky-red? I am having trouble finding red ponies to draw... :tongue:
 
So, I so want to sign up, but I'm having a hard time finding favorite ponies... I keep trying to cut down the list and they keep sneaking back on it!

you can do those with red hair, like g1 sugarberry, or dark redish pink bodies. they dont even have to be normal size ponies, you can even use petites. i used a petite for one of my colors, because i can. :LOL: im sure there are some g2, g3 and g4 ponies that would help you with the colors. try to get as many redish ponies as you can, if its a light pink color, it might make the rainbow look slightly odd, if all the other colors are darker and brighter. you will do a fabulous job no matter which ponies you choose.
 
i got all my cards drawn, just need to outline them and decide how i want to color them. the two groups might be done differently.
