Not sure if this is in the right place... :p

I have two SS ponies in SERIOUS need of some attention. I've never tried deflocking before and I'm worried I'll mess it up, so if anyone is able to do it for me I'd really appreciate it (especially if you are in the UK xD).

One of them has lost pretty much all the flocking on her head. The other one is so discoloured she's almost orange and has big patches of flocking loss. But i think they're savable. Looks almost like someone has tried to deflock them before and failed.

Any help? :3

I'm not replying because I want to do it LOL I've deflocked one to do that yellow custom I made but she had lost most flocking anyways.
All it took though was boiling water and some tongue depressers to scrape (and nails). Some people say oxyclean boiling. Either way you'd have to condition the hair afterwards. Getting between the legs is the most discouraging though.
Maybe you should give it a shot? Isn't there a tutorial on here ?

I have given it a go on a small patch with hot water etc (not sure what the UK equivalent of oxyclean is)...but it's not really gone very well, and i can't get rid of the residue left behind. I'd rather find somebody who can do it properly and has all the right potions to make them pretty again :3

I deflock! :) I use chemicals, though I've never had a problem. Is the orange one a Shady? If so, she's prone to that fading.

If you're interested, PM me, but I live in the US. ;)

well, for me I just use hot water and S.O.S pads -scourge pads- it doesn't scratch the plastic any. It may take a few S.O.S pads but, it definitely works. I use rubber gloves because of the hot water. I also kinda go through the areas I couldn't get the glue off and use 100% acetone with a q-tip or cotton ball.

Have you tried Acetone?

How about (no idea if this would work by the way..) dissolving a tube of Loctite glue remover in boiling water?

deflocks....

Oh.... I have a SS Angel that would be lovely deflocked. I'm trying to wait until I get an upgrade of her first..

I was bad. I found a pEgasus at a thriftshop. IMO she was horrid, her flocking all discolored and grey. Her mane was untamable.So I deflocked her with acetone and cut all her hair off. Couldnt have asked for a better outcome as far as the deflocking went. But I shouldnt have deflocked her. the moral here;

ALWAYS ASK ABOUT A PONY BEFORE DEFLOCKING.

Yes, I was a total NEWB to MLPs back then. *ducks fakies for her blunder and runs*

Wow I've never seen a deflocked Twilight. Are you going to rehair her at least? She actually looks kinda pretty deflocked.
Oh well- so you made a mistake. Some people get mad at these kinda things but it is YOUR pony :)

Twilight's so pretty deflocked. I just got a bait one that I'm going to finish deflocking and rehair . . . she only has one ear so I don't think I'll have to dodge too many flying fakies :)

When I deflock I pop the pony under running hot water and scrape as much flocking off as possible. Then a I use nail polish and a lot of patience to scrape all the remaining flocking and glue residue off. I'm going to have to get out the chemicals to finish up my Hippity Hop's wings though - it's almost impossible to get into the little grooves and finish the job off well . . .

Here's Ribbon who I deflocked this way

Oooo Ribbon is so nice!
Have you tried a nail scrubbing brush with the chemicals on the wings? The nail brushes are usually harder than toothbrushes

Immortalpanda has Twilight now, She fell in love with her when I posted her on the arena(man, were the fakies flying) Ans so we worked out a trade. You'll have to ask her what became of her.
I used acetone and it really was fast and easy. You just have to be REALLY careful wth the symbols. Thankfully Twilights came out perfect save one one pinpoint rub.
If no one buys this Fifi I have I may deflock her.

This is a little off topic but is there any way to re-flock a pony? I also have a Twilight that I'd like to fix up but it's good to know that she looks beautiful deflocked as well.

No I haven't but I'm sure I'd have an old one here somewhere. Great idea!

I bought a terribly baity Fifi as a deflock project she's only about halfway (just haen't had time for her!) but she look lovely deflocked - greatcolours :)

I believe there is some sort of flocking stuff you can buy but I have no idea at all how you do it . . . One of the customisers will probably know. I saw a custom SS Baby Lickety Split on EBay once with flocking and she looked so cute I missed out on her though . . .

I don't see why you cant. reflock her. Ive seen people flock Breyer models before. Maybe try places like this for supplies;
