Show Me Your Deflocks!

Oh haters of all that is soft and fluffy in this world, why do you taunt me?

Just kidding! Although I'm a So Soft LOVER, I do think these deflocks are all brilliant in their own ways... makes their colors really pop, and I do think it's definitely worth deflocking if you find a really cruddy So Soft, it makes them new again!

oh i like SSs too. it's just Windie's flocking was so spottie, and Shady's was horrid (plus neon pink pony-hello XD; ) and so was Lofty and Northstar wa a bait to start with.

i actualy have 2 SSs in my collection; poor Poesey's a bit spotty but her flocking is so nice where it still is i can't bring myself to deflock her. and Magicstar if a childhood replacement so he's gotta stay as he is-plus he's so gorgous!

i just love the neon colors under the fuzz too ^^ though i do admit i was a SS Windie still too ^^;

:reaper: Kat :reaper:

I love SS too! A minty SS is one of my fav ponies but I'm fussy with them so it's hard to find them nice enough!

Ribbon was the worst SS pony ever. She cost like $2 and her flocking was coming off so badly when she arrived the lpastci bag was full of fluff lol

I can't get over how bright their colours become once the flocking has been removed.

Wow, I'd love to deflock my Twist, but I'm afraid I'd wreck her. How does one deflock a pony, anyway?

Anyone have a pic of a deflocked Scrumptious?

When I deflock a pony, I start by just running the hottest water possible over her and scraping as much flocking as possible off that way. Next, I use cotton pads soaked in acetone to remove whatever is left but staying away from painted areas. For those, I use rubbing alcohol instead of acetone. I generally wash and dry them a few times towards the end just checking for spots I've missed and touching them up with Q-tips, but I still haven't figured out how to get the traces around the hair plugs off. There's a tutorial somewhere on how to do it using paint stripper as well. I think it can be done without using any acetone but it would take a lot longer.

My Scrumptious isn't finished yet. Some ponies are more difficult to deflock than others and she's turned out to be one of my stubborn ones. I did take some pictures of the others that I have finished. Wind Whistler is waiting to have her hair repinked, but everyone else is pictured.

Paint stripper is a lot easier than acetone because you don't have to worry about symbols or eyes. I use Jasco. :)

Whoa, I've never really thought much about Cupcake or Bouncy, I don't even have Bouncy and I'm a So Soft lover, but WOW, they look amazing deflocked. I might just have to try this out..... Keep the pictures coming, folks! Your deflocks are amazing!

Ribbon is the hardest to deflock..!

Ok I don't really get it. The symbols and eyes are paint, but I won't have to worry about using paint strippers? Are they really safe?

It's a mystery! Jasco paint stripper does not remove eye or symbol paint, but flocking melts off. I can't vouch for any other types, but the Jasco I use has never harned one of my deflocks.

Wear gloves though! Crap burned a hole in my bathroom counter AND my hand...

Wow these girls are gorgeous! Makes me want to have my own deflocked ponies :)
