The whole trailer is a mood tbh. Definitely gonna see it

It's very much in the tradition of Captain Marvel's old comics (which I can never afford as they are super old and expensive). I'm sorta sad they chose to go with "Shazam" instead of Captain Marvel, but Marvel already threw out their Captain Marvel , so I guess they decided things would get confused. He's not even really a DC character originally. He belonged to Fawcett and DC bought him along with the rest of their character stable in the 1970s.

Now there's a buncha trivia you didn't care about. Wanna hear about the other Captain Marvel, whose body parts fall off and move independently of each other when he yells "Split"? :lolpony:

Yes I do. That sounds horribly painful and medically bizarre.

Well once upon a time, there were many comic companies, all vying for kids' hard earned nickels. Some companies like EC and Fawcett, among countless others put out quality material. Then you had companies like MF Enterprises that would take popular concepts from other books and make their own version of it. Their most famous of these was Captain Marvel. They probably used the name because of ongoing feuding between Marvel and DC (once National Comics) over the name. The original Captain Marvel had appeared first in Whiz Comics in the late 30s (and was even sued by National Comics over over he was too much like Superman, a claim the courts disagreed with) . His troubles continued when Marvel trademarked the named Captain Marvel (in a very backhanded way, really uncool of Stan Lee, who was a lot sneakier than people like to admit) to cover their Kree character/hero. Whiz's Captain Marvel, the true orginal, who had now been purchased by DC, who tried to have him discontinued because of his likeness to Superman, now belonged to his 'enemy's' publisher and had to be renamed Shazam. Sigh. So IN THE MEANTIME, while all this played out in court, MF Enterprises quickly threw out a succession of their own Captain Marvel books before they could get caught and sued as well. Most comic company didn't last a year, so they had plenty of time. While the original Captain Marvel was a human boy with the powers granted to him by saying the word SHAZAM, and the Marvel Capatain Marvel was a Kree super soldier, MFE's Captain Marvel was an android, made on another world who was sent to Earth to escape his planet's destruction (ala Superman!). He had lazer eyes, rocket boots and the ability to split his limbs off and control them remotely. And he was just as funny as it sounds, although that was not their intent.

The end!
