Does anyone have a Sundae Best or other scented pony that still kind of smells like it did once long ago? I often wonder what Peppermint Crunch used to smell like. Probably peppermint. Hur hur.
When Beach Ball had her old hair, it used to change a little bit in the sun but not heaps. Sunsplasher's definitely does not change and has not the entire time I've owned her. Floater's Magic Message is in more danger of flaking off completely than changing, so I just don't touch it! Anyone else's ponies still change?

My Peppermint Crunch still has an odd, quite faint scent. It's indiscernible as to what it actually is other than to say it is a sweetish smell. My family has mocked me more than once for snorting new Ponies when they come in to see if they still have scent.

As for my colour change Ponies, none of them change anymore. Most are pretty baity, so they might well crumble into dust like vampires if I took them outside into the light!

I believe all of mine smell wonderful, but I am not sure if its just that delightful G1 pony smell or if it is the way they are supposed to smell. I think there is a hint of a difference I detect with them though.
All but two of my color changers work still and I actually have some rather nice Magic Message ponies. I have found they work best if I put them in front of my winter heater until the message appears. To do that any other way could cause everything to rub off.
Then I have Cat Pee Pony and she still smells quite a bit.

@evilbunnyfoofoo I know how you feel; I do that snorting thing too! I also find, that the colour changers hair is always the grossest somehow - perhaps it's the nylon they used or something? All mine are frizzy to the point of unbrushable pretty much!

@tulagirl I LOVE that G1 smell! Ohh, that's a good technique...Floater's symbol is pretty uh, flakey...I don't think it'd change even if I were to put her in front of a heater...she'd probably melt, poor thing...
OH Cat Pee Pony, sweet little stinky, sticky thing ~

I do have several Sundae Best that still have their scent. I will try to get them out later and give 'em a whiff. I know that Swirly Whirly smelled VERY strongly of bananas when I got her all those years ago. And Peppermint Crunch was one that I got out of the package, brand new, and I don't remember her actually smelling of peppermint....

Well, I certainly wouldn't recommend a heater setting that melts the pony ROFLOL unless one is trying to burn away toxic smell. Baaaa

The only color changing pony I have is TAF Sundance, and she still works wonderfully!

Huh. I didn't know TAF Sundance changed color? The only Scented ponies we have are G3s. Tropical Surprise and Butter Pop smell like plastic, Tangerine Sunset still has a strong citrus smell. I guess some scents last longer then others?

Her hair changes to a bright magenta in the sunlight! I've only done it twice, because the rest of her hair is fading pink. *facepalm*

I have Caramel Crunch and she still has her smell. She smells really good: if I had to describe it I would say very sweet and a lot like caramel (I guess that's too be expected...) I love the fact that she still smells and I am paranoid that she is going to lose her smell. I don't know why but it really bothers me, like because that's part of her design I want her to stay as perfect to how she came out from the factory as possible. I am not sure what the best way to store her would be, but I store mine in a plastic bag, separate from all my other ponies.

The Ponies smell that yummy caramel and they might turn cannibal and eat her! Good thing she is safely hiding.

LOL yes it's true, I hid her for her own safety :p Actually I am amazed I haven't tried to eat her yet!

I wonder if you could make some home made caramel and blow the smell her way with a fan?

Heheh that's so interesting! A TAF Sundance whose hair changes? That'd be cool!
@CJFullmer woa please do, I'd love to hear about what they smell like LOL~
@cutekitten yeah, I'd be paranoid too - I suppose you'd worry most if you had to bath/wash your pony. When I got Peppermint Crunch, she was among Floater and Ringlets as bath toys...poor babies! So she's always been scentless.
@tulagirl OMG...have you tried that yet? Maybe it'd work, if not dissipate the smell throughout the entire house, that is..

I guess maybe put the pony with a cotton ball and a scent/perfume like the original pony is supposed to smell like and it may work?? I think I only have a very few scented ponies. I think my cherrie treats still smells but she turned off-white. :/

Yeah. I mean, fading pink and color change hair? Who thought of it?!

I know that to renew scents, put them in a plastic bag for a couple of days, depending on how strong you want the scent to be. I know that when I got my Thistle (Best day ever!) she spent two weeks in a plastic bag and regained her sweet coconut scent.

I only have Strawberry Surprise. She had a faint sugary smell until I opened her up for a new tail & replacement mane, inside she had a definite strawberry scent. It reminded me of a strawberry soap I'd been given for christmas as a littleun :D

I am a closet pony sniffer too

I do have a weakness for strawberry & cherry scented anything :)

But strawberry ponies are just the bestest
