The mod team has been encountering an unusual number of username change requests in the past few months, and it is creating quite a bit of confusion on our end in terms of remembering who is who.
Your username is your identity here, and it is how people know you apart from everyone else. It is under which you build your history and reputation in the community, and changing it can be very confusing for those who have become used to your previous name.
While we are happy to change your username at your request, we have decided to limit approving these requests to once per year.
However, if you have special circumstances (a misspelling, grammatical error, name contains a non-allowed word etc), you may contact a moderator at any time for an edit.
