Ever get a nice minty rare pony, and when cleaning it, something goes terribly wrong?
Ever passed up a pony that you later found out was worth a lot?
Ever sold or traded a pony for something you thought was a great deal, just to find out later that you got ripped off?
Ever miss a really nice second-hand find by a short time because of something that could have been avoided (like leaving the house two minutes earlier)?

If you have any pony regrets, any at all, spill them!
I know I have my fair share.

When I took my Sunrise Song out of the package, there was blue ink on her non-display side. I tried to remove it very carefully with nail-polish remover. Soon enough I realized that it had dripped onto her symbol and dissolved part of it. I still haven't found another Sunrise Song because I got that one in the mail, and I live in Canada where Sunrise Song currently doesn't even exist.

She was one of my favorite G3s as she resembled Mimic. I still have her, and I have repainted her symbol, but it's not the same.

In my eyes I ruined her. Now I can't even look at her..

I've had a handful or more sad pony stories but the absolute worst was about a month ago. I was at a Goodwill and I got caught up in looking through a stack of CDs. I headed back to the toy area and i saw a lady walk up to some toys laying on the floor and pick up and MIMIC. Sure, she was grungy and tail-less but it broke my heart! She also took Ribbon, Truly, Tex, and baby lickety Split. I asked her if she was a collector and she said no, that she was getting them for her kindergarten class. THE HORROR! I told her I was a collector and she said "that's nice" and walked off. I searched through the rest of the toys.. but she got the only ponies there were =[. Now when I think about iit, i wish i hadn't stopped to look through the cds..

I had a blue berry basketts in my trade box and never really gave her a second look till someone was interested in her. I cleaned her up and she was the close to perfect and her hair turned out just right. And then I traded her off :? I still want to kick myself about that sometimes.

when I first started collecting again I took some MIB ponys my pack rat mom had saved out of there packages  I am brilliant sometimes!

Last summer (before I was a member here) there was a PILE of G3 ponies at a local thrift store - I was there in search of other things & since I don't collect G3's I walked right by them.

Looking back now I regret it, because I could have been able to help out some other collectors!

Don't worry - Next time they'll all be coming home with me!

I sold (I think her name was meadowstreams or something) a yellow pony with blue hair and dragonfly cutie mark, she was an early 3rd gen pony.
I don't know why I sold her, not atall.
And I think she was unique, anyway, her mane and tail were very curly unlike any other version of that pony i'd seen.

I also sold sparkle works,(who I badly want back.)

i cry every time i think of this. back in like 1996 i went to a garage sale, they had like a hundred ponies and acc and playsets for like $25. i didn't have enough adn my mom wouldn't let me borrow it so i had to walk away.
i sold punzie before she got so pricey, i sold her for $80
i sold my complete jewelry babies set for $120 also before the prices went up. i had to sell them but it hurts when i think about it.

I had a cleaning-accident with an Italian Parasol. That was 3 years ago. An other collector told me, that she cleans all her ponies with a toothbrush. She told me it wouldn´t hurt the symbols. I tried it for myself. It worked very well, expect form my Italian Parasol. There was a big scratch in the symvbol after brushing her with the toothbrush.

I saw a Punzie for $50 on ebay going out. I was a new collector, and didnt know her value. I thought that price was ridiculous. Then all the days I passed by Starcatcher at Walmart thinking I want her but dont need to spend that $10.
