UPDATE on page 3.
*deep breath* First and foremost, big shout-out to Anime_Amy for sending me the craigslist ad that led me to this brag. *hugs* Thanks, darlin' ^_^
Here goes:
Unicornucopia_album/The biggest brag of all time - Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Ok, so this woman had an ad that said "About 100 ponies ~ $100" (turns out there were 96, so good estimate!). She basically just wanted them gone, and didn't want to fool with eBay. She even said she'd looked on eBay and checked prices, but finally just decided on $1 each to get them out of there. Incredibly, 3 other people had already called about them, but they were men, and she suspected they were just out for a buck, and didn't really appreciate ponies. So, happily, I drove 45 minutes into the hills (got lost twice, lol) and finally ended up down a dirt road, across a wooden bridge, and atop a hillside. When she dumped them out of a garbage bag, I nearly died. It took all of my self control to write that check, and calmly leave as if I were carrying nothing more than a bag of groceries, lol. When I finally got back on the road for another 45 minutes, I called eddie and SQUEEEED in her ear. I called poppy, too, but had to leave a Squeee message, lol. I called Amy and squeeed some more. It took me 6 hours of scrubbing and dissenfecting (they had a mouse that got into them and died, so they all smelled of dead animal, ewww! I had to wear gloves and a mask, and I retched and gagged and even threw up a little bit because it was so foul. :nervous: ), and another 3 hours of conditioning, detangling, combing, etc. to get them smelling good, but they freakin' rock now! Don't worry, I used a diluted bleach solution, as well as an antibacterial soap. Now I have a bathroom to clean, and about 10 more ponies that aren't pictured yet (and many still need a bit of acetone to get the marks off), but I couldn't resist showing you the ponies I'd always dreamed of, but never dared to dream I'd have!
PS. Peppermint Crunch smells like Peppermint still! (again? lol)
PSS. Their tails are still wet, lol.
PPS. Ok, sorry, last one. Barny is complete. The boys all have their bandanas. The FP Babies all have their bows. Tux has his tie. I have 3 sets of complete flutter wings, and one set with broken tabs coming in the mail, she found them after I left. I have brushes/combs/picks galore, that I need to sort out, too.
anyone interested in tackling a price check?
Not pictured: Tossles, Romper, Tabby, Squeezer (all Happy tails), 2 baby seaponies: Sunshower and Salty, baby glory, baby moondancer, and baby bbe tiddleywinks.
