Question: Ponies Everyone Already Has

So at this point, I have 3 different Dancing Butterflies ponies. And they're all in pretty good condition, but instinctively I'm thinking, "I'll never be able to sell these to a good home. Everyone has Dancing Butterflies, and they'll be custom-baited for sure."

I don't know why this even is, since she shouldn't be any more common than the other TAFs, but I feel like she's one of those ponies that's popular, and most people make a point to buy her first. Like, she's nice, but no one needs a Dancing Butterflies.

So my question for you is: What are ponies that you think everyone in the community must already have?

The ones that keep falling into your possession, the ones you see everywhere, the ones you think you'll never be able to sell, etc.

The main ones that come to mind for me are Dancing Butterflies, Sundance, Sugarberry, Cotton Candy, and Baby Cuddles. I'd love to hear you guys' opinions - especially more unlikely candidates, like I consider the Twice-As-Fancies to be.
 
Brush and Grow Curly Locks.. I have like...4 of her. Oh, and Rainbow Windy.

(Oh, and I've got 2 or 3 DB too) I kind of don't worry about them getting baited if I sell them though.. just gotta put a price high enough on then that it discourages baiting. Of course.. I would thing anything over 3 bucks would discourage that.. unless the pony is an uncommon pose. Of course.. I'm not a customizer either.

Oh man i wish that were true.....
This lady bought like 4 ponies from me at like $4-6 each and she used all of them for a kids painting project.... i was so sad after she told me, i wanted to take back the sale because they were all perfect...
But sadly i needed the money....

I do not collect G1s as of right now, G3s are cheaper to get... I can tell you common G3s... but i think that is obvious with the popular "7-8" in everything....

Yes, what you both said! It's like, oh, DB's hair is gorgeous, eyes and symbols are fine... but there's a little highlighter smudge on one leg. If I sell it it's going straight for the bait bin.

Repulsive's story is even sadder... kids' craft projects scare me. My mom was a huge crafting fanatic when I was a kid, and even then I had this dim awareness that I wasn't really making anything good.
 
For some reason (despite missing out on some of the more common ponies; it took me years to get a Sundance in a condition I was happy with) I keep ending up with BBE Baby Surprise.

She's everywhere.
 
I've had a double fist full of both baby moondancer and baby glory, I've had atleast 5 DB and a good portion of glory's come into my house.... I'm sure I'm forgetting a few, but it seem's like there are some that are so common, ohh firefly! she's ALWAY'S here... lol but I alway's manage to sell her :)

and Ianthe, I'm so sad I NEED curly lock's without regrind and a tail that work's to restore my childhood collection, so the fact you keep getting them makes me sad, the only two I had were BAIT'S for sure...
 
rainbow curl stripes. I've had 5 of them go through my hands. I've also has multiples of lofty, princess tiffany, DB, twilight, and galaxy.

I'm sure there are more, but those stick out the most.

You are so right! I don't have any pony from those written above, but I have two McDonald's ponies! I only have G3s, one McDonald's G2, one G1 SHS.
 
Peachy, Cotton Candy, and Firefly. And the blue adult sea pony. For reals, y'all. If I find G1's, I can almost guarantee ONE of those will be in the bag.

For G3's, Rainbow Flash and Round N Round.
 
G3 Cotton Candy... over and over and over... and G1 TE Speedy (always full of regrind) seems to keep cropping up.
 
G3 Sparkleworks - she's everywhere! I thought that the orange G3s were supposed to be unpopular! :383:
 
In Europe it seems to be Cherries Jubilee, she seems to be in *every* Ebay lot going!
And Lemondrop :)
 
Sundance for sure. I wasn't even trying to get her and ended up with 2. I read in a pony article "You don't collect Sundance, Sundance collects you." Which seems to be quite true sometimes. Others it seems (for me) that everyone has (or is at least trying to sell): Peachy, BBE Lickety-Split and Half note, Banana Surprise, Rosedust.
And for the record, I do not have a Dancing Butterflies.

Buddafly, I think you're the luckiest in terms of which ponies crop up a lot.

@Skeen, I thought that was really interesting because in all my years collecting I've only ended up with one adult sea pony, and it's the blue one. So there's more evidence for you, I guess. ;)

@Locket - Haha, yes. Sundance is unstoppable! It doesn't help that I feel obliged to buy any G1s I find in thrift stores. It's either that or leave them there to mold, and I can't handle the guilt that comes with the latter.

You guys are making me realize I'm a freak for not owning any Glorys - unless the pearlized baby counts, and I don't think she does! :p
