Question about Petites

So are the ponytail petites that came with a play set are a European variation? Because I got my play sets in the US as a kid and both them have ponytail hair.

I think the play-sets were sold in the US with both the solid plastic petites & the ones with hair. The ones with hair are MUCH harder to find in the US, so it's likely that they reissued the play-sets in a smaller quantity & those reissues contained ponytail versions. Europe got their G1's a year after the US release, so this would explain why the European play-sets all came with ponytail petites.
