I'm going to do a series of baby ponies and these ponies will be a set of five, but the thing is I'm going to need to use my studio sculpey clay to add some details. Will my ponies be safe during the baking process or do I need to do the pieces separate and glue them on later? The pieces are clothes for the babies and I'm not sure how doing it separate would work. The materials say they're to be baked at 275 for 30 minutes. Would the ponies survive or would I be better using a different brand of clay? If so, what brand?

Well, I use Fimo Soft and have never had a problem. I believe the time for that is 30 minutes at 230F. Just be sure you take any magnets out of the ponies before you bake them, and you should be fine. You can check them periodically and see how they're doing too. :)

I usually use Sculpey III and bake at 215. I then keep an eye on the pony. I've never had a problem and have never removed the magnets. I do recomend that you do remove any magnets though.

i use regular sculpy at the 275 degrees for 15 minyes and the only "problem" i've had is hair plugs closing up (on g3s) or hair plugs splitting (on G1s). but like everyone else said remove the magnets first from the G3s! and if you don't want the magneto go flat don't bake it in the hoof either
