I recently purchased a princess sparkle pony. It is very good condition, most of the original curl left and no marks at all. However, the body seems to be light purple and the head is light pink. The color is nice and even on each part of the pony's body, so it doesn't seem to be from fading. Is this a discoloration due to age or was it a factory oops? I purchased it from a woman in hawaii, if that makes any difference.

I would greatly appreciate any info. Thanks!

unfortunatly i know nothing about the your Princess Sparkle trouble sweetie

but...

I dont mean to be the barer of bad news but you might want to introduce your self before you post again

Geez, no need to be snide. I thought I asked nicely. It was just a quick question, as I don't plan to spend my whole life blogging about my ponies or anything.

Re:

I don't think she meant to be "snide", it's just most of us like to have introductions to get to know someone before they post. You may not want to spend all your time on here, but for the times you do have questions, it would be nice for everyone to know everyone else. She was just making a suggestion, you snapping back at her for no reason probably didn't help.

I don't think she was snide about it at all.
New members are just supposed to introduce themselves when they first join.

It was just a quick reminder, and hey, no one is perfect.

Simple as that. :)

She wasn't being snide, she was just advising you of the Forum Rules. (the link is on the left at the sidebar) She was just letting you know (whether or not you intend to spend a lot of time on these boards) that the forum rules state that:

If a Moderator had come across your post first, she would have advised you of the same thing.

Now, as for the Princess Sparkle, it sounds like general fading. I commonly come across many, many G1 ponies that have pink heads, purple bodies, peach heads, pink bodies, etc., etc. It seems to be very common for G1's to "fade" in this odd manner. So, I don't think it is a variant. Just a problem due to the age of the plastic! ;)

It was just a quick question, as I don't plan to spend my whole life blogging about my ponies or anything.

And all they're after is a quick intro. They don't plan to spend their time reading a blog about your whole life or anything.

To answer your original question, I doubt your pony is a variant. The head discoloring from the body (even if the discoloration is even) is a fairly common problem. I just sold a sea pony with the same condition. It will probably lower her value a few dollars, but not too much.

As I said before...I asked the question nicely. I didn't think that details of my life should have anything to do with getting a simple answer to a simple question. I am not saying that all people here are rude, but I will not be returning. Find something better to do with your lives.

um.. ok... so much for getting help... they only wanted you to follow the rules darling. but im talking to air, because she wont be back.

Since the original question has been answered and our OP has decided to take herself off else where I'll lock this thread.

All new members are asked to introduce themselves in the Introductions forum. This is a forum rule it is there so everyone has a chance to get to know each other.

At any rate locking this now if you have any questions feel free to PM me.
