Preorder at EE: 25th Anniversary G1s... Wave ONE???

I hope my husband lets me pre-order. I don't have a lot of time to hunt anymore and I can't find most of the new ones in Canada anyway. I don't want to miss out.

from that pic, some of those you can tell a color diff. I just hope that someone doesn't get them and try to scam a newer collector by making them think that they were the original 6 and not the reissues for the anniversary.

I know that someone will post the detail analysis on the differences to help out newbies and to provide the rest of us with general knowlege.

I wonder how those would look as G3's? I wonder if that is what they mean by wave 1, wave 2 to be g2's and wave 3 to be g3's? those would be weird looking.

everytime i see a new picture of these, i wanna sit on the floor, pee myself, and cry.

im 25 years old.

i cant handle this anymore.

I don't know if I like this whole 'wave' idea if it means they'll be re-releasing more G1's. If they do, it'll kind of devalue the G1's for me. Part of what makes this hobby fun is the 'thrill of the hunt,' if you know what I mean. I like having to really look hard for the G1's I want, rather than just being able to find the same thing MIB at Walmart, with the only difference being the year under the hoof.

i am going to wait to get them in the store cause i am getting 2 sets and at $15.00 each that'll be over $60 after taxes. i plan on keeping one set MIB and 1 set to open. i just HAVE to open them OMG, i cant wait to open them! it'll be like being a little kid all over again! hehehe

I haven't heared of the 25th Aniversarry ponies, yet. I wasn't much here in the last months. They are looking great and will buy them all. Especially the haircolour of Cotton Candy looks darker to me than the orginal line. One point, that will make this ponies less interesting for little girls will be the price. Some parents could think, that they are too expensive.

If you think about it as the cost per pony though, they aren't all that much more expensive then the g3 line.

I am so super excited! I am on the fence to get 2 sets of each or not. I will open at least 1 set that's for sure, but buying an extra set at $15 each is pricy. Plus that's 6 total less G3s I can get.

I am also 25 this year, but it's not that bad really. Sharing a birthyear with ponies is a great thing, to me at least.

ouch

i can't believe it.. They are probably going to realease more then the collectors set (like Firefly, Moondancer, Apple Jack). I'm excited, but then again not too thirlled. I like having the hunt of looking for the originals (as someone else stated!). Whatever happens, happens.. I'm buying anything in G1 molds :-D!

Anyway I don't know if this has been mentioned, but the date of the collectors set is from 1982 not 1983 correct? My sister was born in 83 and she is 23.. she will be 24 this year.. I think they date is messed up on that box?

Yeah, but have you checked out their shipping cost to Canada? They want $18. That's crazy!

Hooray!

I'll be getting 2 sets - one for me and one for the kids.

Probably won't pre-order though, I've got $100 giftcard to HASBRO.com that's got MLP written all over it!!!

Shipping to Canada is ridiculous! I think I'll wait until the store releases...and if they don't release them here I'm pairing up with a US buddy! ;D Anyone want to help out a pony pal...? lol

I really don't understand what Wave 1 means.

But I am extremely excited about these ponies. I'm gonna wait to pick them up in the store. Also, I thought they were coming out in the fall?

And do you think those are just prototypes or are they going to change a bit?

So many questions.

odd

I think they look very slightly different to the originals in body shape and eye paint - the colours seem way brighter but that could just be that photograph - and the combs look bigger.

Also, it says 1983 on the box, didn't the originals come out in 1982? I thought they had but maybe i'm wrong.

I always thought the originals came out in 1982. I'll be turning 25 this year too. I like to think me and ponies blessed the world with our presence together *smirks*

I wonder if we'll really need to preorder them? I'm sure they will be out in stores, right? I'm very hopeful that there wil be more sets, and yes, they do look really bright. I love them!

okay, I'm not at home this week, so I can't compare to my G1's - are the symbols bigger? like, taking up more of their rear than the originals? They seem HUGE. maybe it's just the super-bright colors confusing my tired eyes?

either way, I'm excited, and I hope I can hook some. I don't think it'll devalue G1's though, because i'm sure we'll all be able to tell the difference (especially if they are THAT bright!)

Somehow they look bigger... as if they didn't have the original molds and had to use a pony to make a mold around it (a lot of G3 fakies used the G3s as mold but are smaller because they used to make the mold inside the pony it seems).

Otherwise they're cute. Somehow I doubt they'll be released in Europe though...
