Well it's not an actual My Little Pony, but it sure looks like one! I wish it had a name. The colors remind me of Cuddles (magic message) and the symbol reminds me of tales pony Sweetheart. Cuddly Sweetheart? lol

And here I am after looking around and making sure I didn't know anybody at the mall, lol...complete with my wrist brace. And no, I didn't "ride", I just sat there for the picture. hehehe.

That is so coool! Sherbet, you are right about the likeness to Cuddles and Sweetheart, I wouldn't have been able to put my finger on it, really.
Hehe, it looks like the one at Dream Valley, but I think that one is pink, and was in a Walmart.

Oh my, you're right I do remember seeing that on Dream Valley before. Here's a link for anyone who is interested: http://www.kimsites.net/dreamvalley/ride.html
It is the same pony, except "mine" has no MLP logo anywhere. Mine is at Greece Ridge Mall in Greece, NY.

Wow! They are identical to each other!!! That is really cute!!!! Looks like you had fun sitting on her!!!:p I think the eyes are what make it look so MLP.

That's really cool! I remember there were some on ebay and I desperately wanted one, but there would never have been room here for it. Maybe some kid sat and picked at the logo sticker and that's why it's not there?

Awww! Such cuteness! That's cool you found a MLP ride...she does look like Cuddles with Sweetheart's symbol :D

could be the same pony, the one on kim's site was in northern NJ

I found a difference - mine has a saddle blanket painted onto it, which is yucky because it goes over part of the symbol. But I guess it's possible it's the same one, you never know!

haha so that is the pony ride you were going on! Nice picture!

I think it would have been funny if one of your past students walked by when you were sitting on it!

Aww...she's so cute! I remember seeing one of those here in the UK when I was five. I loved her!

I collect photographs of coin operated children's rides (I have over 2000 on record! :D), and have seen four different MLP (plus some extra dupliacte ones, and yes, they are officially MLP ;)) rides over the years - that one, a pink one with blue hair, a yellow one with purple hair, and a green one with pink hair. All of the other colour variants have Starlight's symbol.

They were made in 1994 (obviously following the Pony Tales series) by a UK company called Jolly Rogers. Jolly Rogers went out of business a couple of years ago, and was taken over by Photo Me, who make, sell and hire out children's rides and photo booths among other amusement machines. Photo Me are a US company, and even before they took over Jolly Rogers, they were somehow connected (never really got my head around it!) and used to hire out the JR rides in America.

The ponies originally played a tune as kids rode, but the tune is not an original pony one, even though it's often described as an "original MLP theme tune". The final part of the tune sounds like the original "My Little Pony, My Little Pony, My Little Pony Tales" theme though - maybe it was the tune they originally intended on using for the series.

As for the saddle blanket, and missing logo, I believe that this pony must have been restored and re-sprayed. I don't know why they had to put the saddle blanket over her symbol though :(.

Hope that wasn't too much detail for everybody - if anyone has more questions about the pony rides, or any other coin operated rides for that matter, I'll be more than happy to answer what I can. :)

Sherbet You are so cute! :D
**hugs**

Mario~

I just found out that theres some interesting things in greece NY.... lol I might have to take a trip to go see the pony on my way heh

the ride I took a picture with had the old MLP logo on the side I'm standing on, it didn't have a blanket. I wonder if the ones with blankets are knock offs?

Glad you found this thread, Cattrah! That's neat that the one you found has the MLP logo!

Cattrah - I thought about that myself, but the blanket definitely looks like it was painted more recently than the rest, and I don't think anyone would purposely paint over the symbol like that unless it was done at a later time. If I go back, I'll have to see if there's a logo on the other side, I don't think there was.

i've seen one of those before in Southend in England, only she was pink with blue hair, i saw here in Pirates Paradise i think it's called, it's a theame park, if i go back there i'll get a photo of it for the forum

Sherbet - the logo's are always on the side you photographed, as far as I know. The logo is actually a transfer on the stand, as opposed to a sticker, I think, so they probably painted over that too. It looks to me like someone did a little touch-up job by painting over all visible marks and scratches.

HeavyHooves - Pink with blue hair? I think that's the most common one since I've seen about four of those in my time. However, last time I went to Southend (which was, admittedly, about three years ago) there were TWO pony rides at Adventure Island, both of which were in unusual colours I hadn't seen elsewhere - yellow with purple hair, and green with pink hair. I should have photos of me riding them when I was about six somewhere...
