Wow, it's been a while since I've visited the board. Been really distracted with so many other things lately, but I've done a few pony rehairing projects. Not quite customs so I thought they would fit better in this category instead.

I like working on "pony rescue" projects. Where the pony is in bad condition, but not bad enough to be baited. Just needs some TLC and she can look fabulous again.

Locket was one of my childhood ponies. She was full of black mold inside and her hair outside was massively damaged. Fizzy had nasty hair that was trimmed and Sea Flower was covered with paint as well as having horrible hair. So I gave these girls all new makeovers. Here's the before and after pictures:

Fizzy and Seaflower I matched their hair as close to the original colors as I could. Fizzy's, I have added ringlets. Seaflower's I just left long. She looks like an amazing beach babe now.

Locket, I changed the colors a bit. I really don't like that orange hair against her pink body. So her hair is white, pink, magenta and purple. I don't plan on ever selling her since she's from my childhood so I figured I was okay with that. I gave her some looser curls and I've never seen her looking so fabulous.

Newest project finished: Deflocking and rehairing SS Shady.

I wish I had a before picture. She looked horrific, like she had a bad case of mange. Flocking was rubbed off and stained with brown spots. Mane was mostly gone.
Was my first deflocking project, I learned a lot. Unfortunately, her cutie marks did get some damage as I learned what works and what doesn't. But all in all, she looks like a fabulous valley girl now.

More rehairs are on this thread. I have several projects in the works and I'll keep posting them as I finish them.

Amazing job at fixing the up! Their new hair looks fantastic, especially Fizzy's ringlets.

Rock-on! They look divine like candy! Woo woo! I am proud to see them so pretty..awww..

beautiful restore jobs! my locket has dreadful hair, and I may rehair her after seeing how nice yours looks :)

Thanks girls! I LOVE rehairing ponies. I know a lot of people find it tedious, but I think it's soothing. Especially with the anxiety/sleeplessness I've had as of lately. It's nice just to zone out and find your place of zen for a while. And one of your girls gets a new look for it. Really, if the hair is a loss, but the body looks great a rehair is a good way to really bring some new dazzle to your pony.I have some other rehair projects I'm working on. I'll post pics when they're finished.

They look so much happier with their new "Do"es, congrats!

wow! thay look awesome! how do you "fix" their hair from being mangled & tangled to FABULOUS?

Added a pic of my newest project. Deflocked and rehaired SS Shady.

They all look really great! Excellent job! ^^

Here's the latest "rescue project" I just finished. Tootsie was traded to me as a bait pony merely because her hair had been cut and what was left was dry and damaged. But her body was still quite lovely and I couldn't bring myself to bait her.

So she got a new hair do. Instead of giving her the normal hair color, I decided to give her some different hair since she's a fairly common pony. I rehaired her with a mix of Atomic Turquoise and Pacific ocean with a stripe of pink sugar. This hair looks marvelous on her. This girl is ready to get a new lease on life!

Yay! I love seeing baity G1s being restored to their special original Glory... or Firefly, or Butterscotch.

OMG tootsie looks beauitful!!
We have a few g1s we want to rehair and now I want to do them RIGHT NOW!!!!

Now I want to look through thrift stores to see if I can find any bait ponies to restore. :rose3: I'd love to have a fun project like that.
