Do you nickname your ponies? I tend to nickname everyone (co-workers, hubby, random people at the gym who have the same schedule as me, even my dogs have about 6 nicknames each)

I know we have common collector nicknames (for example, "Punzie" for Rapunzel). But I realized as I was rearranging my ponies that I call Rainbow Dash "Dash," or "Dashy." And G3 Butterscotch is "Scotchy." A lot of my pony nicknames are just shortened versions of their real name (Pinkie Pie is just Pinkie and Baby Goody Gumdrop is Gummy). Cherries Jubilee is CJ and Applejack is AJ. And what was Hasbro thinking with Up, Up & Away and Tink-a-tink-a-too? In my herd, those are Helium and Tink. I also decided I don't like the name Sew-and-so. To me, she's called Patches.

These are just a few examples of my nicknames. Anyone else do this? Wanna share some?

Lol!
I nickname my ponies, but in the movies they are sometimes nicknamed.

some of my old ponies have their names from when i was a kid :)

well my Tracks and Trucker used to be Chain and Scar, but then i learned their real names ^^;

I do call my WindWhistler Windie though, cause WindWhistler is just too long. And MoonDancer's Moony, and on occassion baby Abacus is just Abi

:reaper: Kat :reaper:

I don't give my ponies nicknames but that is a very cool idea!

I like "Helium" that's very cute. :) Some of mine are shortened but not very creative. I think it's very cute you have so many nicknames for them. It kinda makes them more personal and shows they're loved. :love3:

Well, I don't really nickname a particular "kind" of pony, but I have a few specific ponies with nicknames. My brothers actually have nicknamed a LOT of my ponies, but considering they're both older teenagers, their nicknames are really not appropriate to share here. (Neither of them come up with anything insulting, but they like to tack curses onto modified pony names for emphasis.)

I have a second-pose Pinkie Pie wearing a tie, known as "Don Pie."

The styling pony Rarity is called "Rainbow Heart."

My mother calls EVERY pony "Sparkle Surprise."

I have a hard time remembering the names of 1000 some ponies that I don't tend to try to add to the confusion. The only exception is the couple of names I mixed up as a child (Cloud Dust and Rose Puff) - which were Cloud Puff and Red Roses respectively) I sometimes blank and still call them those names. But generally I try to stick to their real names.

My childhood ponies still all have their childhood names. Whenever i'm talking to another collector about my ponies and i bring one of them into conversation i often call them by the names i gave them before their real ones lol.
Stargleamer is called Princess
Rainbow Rider is called Harmony
Hula Hula is Seashore
Baby Dangles is Mobile
Starshine is Star
Sea Breeze is Tropical
Baby Tappy is Baby Laces

And with my others i was able to remember their names or actually changed them because the names i gave them were boring lol (Happy Glow was Carnival but i preferred her real name lol) And with Peppermint Crunch i just shortened her name to PC ^_^
