Does anyone ever worry about when in the future it's time to let go of your collection and that there will be not many people that like the older generations anymore?
I keep feeling worried for my collection for in the future and I just wanna know, am I the only one worried for our precious ponies? Am I being silly? lol I guess so but at least I care lol
Do you ever feel that they'll just get destroyed, or thrown away?
Just wanna know if I'm not the only worried one here lol
I guess I just want them to be treasured still!

Sorry if this is in the wrong place!

No I worry about that too! I wonder if time will make my G1s so baity that no one will want them, and I worry about G3 and G4 ponies never having any collector value but also being "too old" so kids won't want to play with them once I decide to give them up. :cry2:

You aren't the only one. I wonder about that too sometimes. All the years of my work collecting just thrown in the trash or something. I want to pass my collection down to a child if I ever have one. I hope they will treasure it as much as I do. :cry2:

I think I probably pass down my collection to my daughter most likely. I use to also worry about it myself. Though I hope she doesn't sell the more expensive ponies. If she does sell most of my collection which probably could happen. :sadpony:

Anxiety?
Um, one day when I have to move into a larger house. it would be "YAY big enough pony room to display all my lovelies!" followed by the realization :sleepdeprivation: "oh. yeah. I have to bring my ponies out of my house." this will cause me so much anxiety until they arrive at the new house safely.

I do worry about floods/leaks/fire. I've taken what precautions I can. Other then that, I do what I can to keep the collection from showing it's age. No sunlight, they're either packed or behind glass. I keep the room very dry and temps stay even. If someone went in there and opened the curtains and blinds, then told me about it later THAT would be surefire anxiety.

I don't worry about resale. These ponies are strictly for my enjoyment. :D If prices plummet I'd just buy MORE!

:sadpony: that's my problem, too! I'm a junior in high school, and I want to go to college in New York City, which would mean a small living space! I've worked so hard on my collection and my shelves, but my room here is huge! I don't want to have to pick who goes with me. :cry2:

all of this will eventually move to my own place one day :sadpony:

Pinkie, thats a beautiful display.

No, I dont worry about what will happen to my collection. I cant imagine selling them unless I was in such dire circumstances that I wouldnt be worrying about ponies, I would be worrying about feeding my children etc. I used to worry about my vintage doll collection and what would happen to that if I died, would people know which ones were valuable etc but now I dont worry because its all just material stuff and you cant take it with you! just have things to make you happy now. Dont worry about things that might never happen :)

Nope.. you're not the only one with that anxiety.
lol~ I have thought before.. ok, if I die.. who could I trust to
fully appreciate my ponies and do right by them.
To be honest.. there really is nobody in my family I think would
take my ponies seriously... gonna have to write it in a will or somewhere
that I want my ponies sold to mlp collectors exclusively.

But ill go further in admitting that my personal mlp anxiety is
getting worried I wont be able to find all the ponies I favor.
Which is quite a lot actually and I hope to complete at least a few sets.
I wanna complete the: twinkle eye set, magic message set, sunshine ponies,
newborn g1 baby set, taf ponies... + G3 giant styling ponies.
:D

I love the way you have your collection displayed. Beautiful!

I don't worry so much about what their value will be in the future. Something tells me their value will be there for some time to come. And if not, well, they're for me to enjoy.

My biggest worries are 2 fold, though. First, I do worry about fire/flood/volcano - yeah, I live near one. I'd hate to lose all my ponies due to something like that. It would be hard having to evacuate and know that I'm leaving all of them behind. However, I also know family and my real animals are more important than toys, no matter how much I love them.

My second worry is having to sell the collection because of financial issues. There are things I'd like to do with my life that unfortunately take quite a bit of money. I have to suck it up and tell myself that I might have to choose between my dreams and my ponies. I know I'd choose to sell, but it would be very, very hard. I don't look forward to that day and hope it never comes.

I don't worry about it. I enjoy them now and can't think of a time when I'd ever get rid of them. I was talking to my younger brother last week, I needed some of his info for beneficiary paperwork I was filling out and he made some comment about the ponies. I laughed and told him if I died it could be entirely up to him what to do with my ponies. He got this overwhelming look on his face and said he would have to set up some sort of pony museum to honor me by LOL.

Thank you for the compliments on my display! I tried to put ponies by release year but I found it looks nicer with my room to go by gen, size, then put in rainbow order. But that's the main reason I worry about settling into my own place with them! I love the way it is so much and how it looks in my room here.

I only ever really worried about my ponies when I broke up with a dumb old boyfriend of mine...I just thought for sure he was gonna cut their hair!!! I am planning on keeping my ponies till I die, then I will go Haunted Collector and where ever my ponies go after that I can go with them!!! So if they seperate it will be like having a hundred different homes!!!

I guess my anxiety now is that I never tried to fix mold inside a pony till just now and probaly have some ponies rotting right now!!! But my kids get my ponies, and they are a very prominant part of our lives, and I don't think they would dare sell them till after I have kicked the bucket, or we are broke, or they wanna go be doctors!!!...I am beyond obsessed...its like a diagnosable disability for me...but it is one that I gladly love!!!

your cool, don't worry, they have been around 30 years, so if they lasted this long i'm sure they will be rocking it in decades to come (If your worried about value!) so kick back and enjoy the color kalidascope of one of the 'most loved childrens toys'...My Little Pony...

Anxiety

I think my husband gets more anxiety about my pony's because my collection keeps getting bigger

Haha! YES! My family was like this. My OH is alright with it so long as I don't take over the house like the people on "Collection Intervention". He actually teased me about spreading them about the house and applying me for the show. :p

My mom is cute
"Oh, how much is that worth"
"Really?!? are you going to sell it?"
"Why not?"

My thoughts exactly, FF!

I don't worry about no one appreciating and loving old ponies ever since I sold a bunch to a three year old. Her mom had some ponies when she was little that her daughter became enraptured with so seeing my herd was amazing for her. If they can still light up a child's eyes decades later then I think there will always be a place.

I do feel sad though when I see how time has treated the generations. They weren't made to last forever unfortunately. I try to take precautions as much as I can but I know I might see one of those most precious to me succumb one day.

I can't worry too much about disasters either. I live in a place that is vulnerable to weather as well as Nuclear accidents. One day it could happen and I don't have control over that.

I suppose what does stress me out though is moving. Something always goes wrong. Plus I've had to keep ponies in storage before too so, I'd rather have them in a nice absolutely climate controlled place near me.
