Was watching A&E, and they have this show called hoarders. Tonights show had a 23 year old on it as the Hoarder, well she had BOXES of old 80s toys, and a few of those boxes included MLPS!!!! has anyone seen this episode?

i always watch that show but i havent seen that one yet. i kept thinking they would find mlps on one of the episodes :) i cant believe i missed it!

oooh! I taped tonight's episode, tell me it was the new one! I'm going to watch it later now :D so excited!

I hope my husband never sees that episode! lol

I've never seen that one! I really hope they didn't turf them!

I didn't see it. Do you know more about the episode, like the name of the 23 year old? I was trying to look it up on Hulu but can't find it. :(

I've seen Carebears from the 80's on that show. I haven't seen any ponies on the show yet. Lol, that show is really shocking at times.

she isn't 23 i thought she was she is 29. Her name is June. I dunno how many boxes she had. But she had a lot of rainbow bright.

I watched this episode last night and her name is June and is 28 yrs old with a 14 yr old daughter.....she did have LOADS of '80's toys including: Rainbow Brite, Care Bears, and I saw "newer" plushie ponies...maybe I missed the G1's if there was any. Since June missed out on be a kid due to getting pregnant so early in life and not having any help from her mother, she began hoarding toys and such.

If you go to the link in Clipper's thread and go down to the bottom of the page you can click on the entire episode. I watched it and it does show a tub of G1 ponies as well as a plush Sparkleworks.

Also, if you watch the "June deleted scenes" it has her friend and her dad talking about her Ebay addiction and how she buys Carebears, Rainbow Brite, My Little Ponies, and Strawberry Shortcake.

I've always kept my ponies in a Ponyroom, but I could see where things could get out of hand if you were excessive about other things and they started to take over.

I like to watch Horders because it makes me all motivated to clean and things get organized fast!

:)

LOL! I was just coming here to post this. Just watching it on the dvr now.

MLP in A&E's "Hoarders"

In the most recent episode of Hoarders one young woman had saved boxes of things from the 80's. Tons of Rainbow Brite and Care Bears...I kept waiting to see MLP and sure enough there was a quick shot of a clear rubbermaid bin filled with them. I definitely saw Pina Colada and am not sure who/what else. The sickening thing is they were in mint condition and were probably doanted to charity!

Hopefully they went to charity and not into a dumpster like a lot of the things on that show! I really hope they were donated and not chucked because of the lead paint hysteria...

Oh! I don't have cable, so thanks for the heads up!

Wow.. interesting! I did see the box of ponies, you have to watch the full episode to see it.
You know, I can see how easy it would be to get your house covered in things like that. Especially regarding toys from my childhood. Luckily, the only toys that I have kept were MLP. I only have one small box of "other" toys from childhood.

Also, I've always felt that my attachment to MLP was "enabled" by my Mother, who had me when she was 15. Maybe because she had me so young, that's why she encouraged my collecting and even helped as much as she did. I also was an only child for most of my life, and I moved around a lot, both which are reasons that I thought I love my ponies so much.

Q:

Do you think MLP collecting is a type of hoarding?

I promise that if I ever make it on the show hoarders because of my collection, I will post here about the experience.

That show creeps me out sometimes. I've been in houses of people who hoard (hi mom) and those are just the scariest, sickest things you might have to experience.

i never use to think of pony collecting as hoarding but the more i watch the hoarders show it makes me think that it is a type of hoarding.... :(
