Hello everyone. I am a long time collector, but have been dormant for the last 15-20 years to raise my kids. I collect mostly G1, but I have some G3 too. I'm pretty introverted and I don't use the computer much so I have a lot to learn. My goodness, things have changed in the last 15 years in Ponyville haven't they? Mostly prices (good lord!!) but also the styles. It has been fun lately cleaning up my pony room and uncovering/unboxing some old treasures I had forgotten I had. I have only cleaned up my internationals so far. I used to work for Hobby Lobby back in the early 2000's and they went through a remodel. I got some really nice glass display cabinets for cheap so I don't have to dust. I also have an old (OLD) timex watch display from a store. It only fits babies, but if you turn it on, it lights up and spins slowly. MLP G1 International.jpgIMG_20240424_122258[1].jpg
It's like having a baby carousel. Anyways, it's so nice looking at all of your collections. I'm looking forward to learning a lot from all of you.

Parasol - welcome back to the community! You were active back when I was as well (early to late 00’s) and I just rejoined the community back in February. The people here are still nice. Your collection is beautiful!
& yeah, the days of $2-$5 common pony prices are done. For a laugh look at the price of the G2 McDonald ponies that nobody would even take for free years ago.
You already have the expensive ponies in your collection it looks like, your m/o mom and baby can go for $1000 now and Repunzel is about $2500.

Welcome back to the MLPTP :) do you remember your old username? we can restore your old account?

Your collection is lovely! Look at those princess dragons and seaside baby floaties  I think the idea of a spinning shelf is great, just sit there and watch all the pretties go round and round! Makes me think of the dessert case there was in this old BBQ place when I was a kid, I remember watching all the pies go round LOL

Not always sadly, Jewel couldn’t restore my account because it was before the big wipe of 2005

Back in the late 90s when ebay was new I would get on the German ebay. That place was a ghost town. Got my German babies for $5 each and German Skydancer for $10. Those were the days!

You could find stuff back then like that.
I was so worried about online transactions at that time  I remember when PayPal was born and that’s when I started becoming more comfortable.

Before PayPal & for personal transactions, many of us sent money orders and/or checks. With checks, they’d either send right when the check was received for established customers but new customers had to wait until the check cleared the bank. Etiquette stated that we have to send payment BEFORE the pony was sent and it took FOREVER, :lolpony: Again, established customers might be able to get their pony sent faster.

Ponies was so much more affordable then but, we have to remember too, they weren’t really that old at that time. Pretty much they were as old as what G3 is now - then.

I miss a lot about the old pony community but, this is still a great community as well :twohearts:
