Odd Dreams following the storm: Come laugh at me

Okay this is a fun thread. If you have a weird dream feel free to post it here.

I am having such odd dreams I am concerned lol. I have no idea what they mean but, with the trauma I feel seeing such devastation all around me, and my mom having cancer along with her complications and possible second surgery coming up due to those. I feel I am having the oddest dreams.

I need some interpreters.

Dream 1

I am in an apartment I can't afford and it is surrounded by water and I almost get swept away trying to make it to the bathroom. (okay this is probably easy)

Dream 2

I am 20 years old again and at a party getting my head measured with a metal device? I am actually concerned about what they are not telling me ROFLOL.

Dream 3

Last night I dreamed that I was in a building with many things for sale. There were lots of people living in there. There was a cage with a bat like creature that talked. There was a talking cricket that stood on top of the cage and talked with people as they walked by. I found it very disturbing. R2 was wearing a 1970's flower power formal with a see through skirt. (He wasn't impressed when I told him this...this am ROFLOL) We were looking for food to eat. It was hard for me because, I can't have anything in a box and we were reading labels. Finally I settled on Cheerios. I knew I couldn't eat them but what was I going to do. (some of this makes sense and some of it is just crazeeeeee people)

Tulagirl is losing it I think. We may need to do some sort of brain transplant before all of this is over.
 
Yowza - them some crazy dreams. Given the circumstances however, perfectly normal I am sure.

I have found that getting a little bit older, I have fewer nightmares. I look forward to vivid dreams these days as they aren't often uncomfortable. Except when they are about work.

On the other hand I have a repeating dream that I have had for decades. I suddenly live in a large and beautiful rambling house, but I have to lock it all up before nightfall, and it's dusk, and some of the windows don't lock, or I have friends/relatives that keep unlocking stuff. I don't know what is supposed to happen at nightfall but it's bad, I'm sure. Luckily I always wake up before night falls.
 
I don't like having certain dream they tend to be more of what will happen.
I have had dream of my sister and her friend getting into a bad wreck with a simi truck and it came through.
I had a dream someone I knew would pass away in a car accident but not from the accident itself. My 2nd mom died last year in October just like in my dream.
I also had a dream I hit a deer and I did hit a deer.

Now I have had a few good dreams
I dream my sister would get a better job and sure enough she got a new job a few weeks later...
I dreamed about my two niece being born and knew they were girls before and all.

I never know who my dream effect most of the time.
 
I have lucid dreams in which I have some control to extract the ending I want.

I have those a lot too. In some instances they have been fun, informative or have saved me from harmful people in my dream. But the gigantic metal spider space invaders with infrared fire power were hard to escape from. I had to wake myself up by banging on my arm and yelling, "wake up, wake up". LOL I was not scared when I woke up just glad to be off that planet during a hopeless invasion. baaaaa

I watch way too many movies.

I get the same from books.
 
Last night I had a dream about a bear. It had its claws wrapped around my leg. So I decided to pet it behind its ears until it let me go. Then I started running from it. At this point in the running process I say, "you stupid, you can't run from a bear, everybody knows that! You learned that on Alaskan Bush People." Baaaaa See what I mean about tv. Next it will be a dragon from Game of Thrones.
 
I don't think dreams have meaning. I think it's a bunch of people, objects, locations and scenarios from your memory bank, getting drunk together partying while you sleep

With that said, your flood dream reminded me of a dream I had as a teen or young adult where I was browsing expensive g1 ponies at local Yard Birds Mall to buy but I had to hurry up and decide before flood waters reached me.

That mall closed after a massive flood in 1994, it was a super center before Walmart came along
But there was a after-flood close out sale and I bought my last g1 pony ever there and it had dried flood mud on it.
The mall closed and became a giant swapmeet where I still find ponies there now and then.

They had a grocery department there for 13 years that I loved to shop at, but it finally went out of business recently

Swapmeet is still there though

Okay so last night this dream was pretty bad. It woke me up at 3am and I was not able to go back to sleep for an hour. A huge crab like creature came through the air vent in the bathroom of the house I grew up in and started attacking me. Then a roach about 6 inches long with electrical wings flew on me and started biting me and electrocuting my hands. I hate roaches people. It was so unnerving it was hard for me to shake it. Then I went back to sleep and dreamed about my childhood best friend that has past away. She and I were at an antique fair shopping. Thank goodness I did not have to revisit the haunted house I grew up in with the attack crab and the attack, killer roach. Uggggg
 
My daughter had a nightmare last week. She dreamed her aunt, my sister, had been stabbed in the stomach. Her cousin was floating in the air near her. My mother was there. I was there and I was older. My daughter came running into our kitchen and found this. Turns out my sister had the stomach flu. Some other details were straight out of a game she'd been playing that day
 
I had a stabbing dream when I was a child. I remember it even to this day. In the dream my mother and I were in the front yard on the edge of our driveway when a man came up and attacked us. He had a huge butcher knife and I felt every one of those stabs. It was terrifying and I woke up screaming. Nothing was as bad as the dream I had where I was in the car with my husband. We were involved in a wreck up on the highway. Our car went over the edge to fall a very long distance all the way to the concrete below. I felt myself die on impact as everything in my chest was crushed. I could not breathe and felt blood just leaving my body. Then everything went black. I woke up and stayed up the rest of the night. So, you can die in a dream I guess and come back.

I know why I dreamed about the stabbing thing. I also know partly why I dreamed about the car going over the highway because that almost happened to me on a trip to Florida. On that same trip my friend died unexpectedly while were were in Florida.

Nah the actual flooding event happened like a decade before I had that dream

The dream was exaggerating old strong memories
 
I had 2 dream where my younger sister drowned.
