I'm a week behind on this. I'd better think of something fast!
Tonight I am thankful that the fishnet stockings I bought when I was 17 still fit me. The pantyhose I bought today looked terrible with my costume, and I would otherwise have had to go to the party on Saturday night with far less coverage. Thank you, teenage me, for buying those fishnets and sparing my decency.
I am grateful for my looks and my figure. I never considered myself pretty growing up, and I still battle to think of myself as attractive, but even though I may not be perfect, I know that I should feel lucky to have been born with good genes. I've never been overweight, and I am frequently mistaken for being 10 years younger than I actually am. I will not have the privilege of either of these forever, so I need to appreciate them while I still can.
I am thankful for my boyfriend's sister. She always gives me her second-hand clothes and happily offers to do my makeup for me. I don't know a thing about makeup, and I would probably end up looking like a mime or gluing my eyelids together if I had to do it myself. She also brought my cat Jinx home for me, and persuaded me to adopt Toby and Furby.
I'm thankful for my boyfriend's mother, who buys me medicine when I need it, always gives me warm clothes on my birthday, and gets me sugary cereals, soda and chocolates despite everyone else in the house being on a diet. I am also grateful for her amazing cooking, as I only eat instant noodles, ready-meals and frozen food when I'm at home.
I am grateful that my five-year-old PC with Windows XP still works for browsing the internet, watching movies and playing most of my favourite games, as I don't know when I'll have the finances to be able to upgrade again.
I am thankful to have privacy and time to myself when I'm at home and when everyone is at work.
I'm thankful for sleep, for dreams, and for waking up every morning.
