new custom: wild blue scooter pony!

EDIT: here she is, all finished! the scooter was a HUGE pain because i had to paint over EVERYTHING... DX but i think she turned out perfect. ^__^<3 i TRIED to get a picture of the sparkles on her nose, but it didn't turn out. :(

some of you guys may remember last summer (i think?), when scootaloo and bumbleberry came out, and amazon.com had a mystery scooter pony named "wild blue" listed. there was no picture, no description, but some of us bit the bullet and ordered her. when she arrived... she was bumbleberry. shortly after, "wild blue" was listed as unavailable, and then taken down entirely and bumbleberry was listed.

i've been thinking about whatever became of that pony - how did amazon get that name? did she ever actually exist? and i know a lot of collectors were excited because the name just sounds so cool - WILD BLUE. so i started thinking it would be nice to see her as a custom, but how? what colors should she be? what should her symbol be? how to do the scooter? should i try to make her myself or commission a more skilled customizer?

so, if wild blue was a real pony, what would you want her to look like?

say, a picture's a really good idea... i'll have to look for some lineart of scooter ponies and see what i can come up with.
 
Hmmmm...sounds like a good contest to me. (Not that I want to host one though!) :tongue:
 
Argh. I have it in my mind, but it's hard to get it down on paper, so to speak.
Here's what I came up with.. sort of..

Basic pony colours (edited):

The symbol would look something like this:

She's a basic light blue with darker blue mane and tail with black streaks (yeah right, Hasbro). :roll:
Her eyes are brown and her symbol is a butterfly with a tiger face. Since her name is 'Wild Blue', I thought not only should she be blue, she should also have something 'wild' about her.

I don't know, maybe I'll have to try again later. :|
 
wow, my ideas are pretty boring compared to yours! all i've got so far is a light blue body, and either solid dark blue hair or white/light blue/dark blue streaked hair, and dark blue eyes. i hadn't even thought of a symbol yet. :B
 
That would be an awesome custom ;) I liked the idea of a scooter pony called wild blue and was disapointed when we found out that it was a mistake. Maybe if you made her you could give her a mohawk or something to get her 'wild' side lol. The scooter would have to be some metallic blues with maybe some blue lightning streaks down the side. Something like firefly's symbol would look doos on the scooter.
 
:O that would be awesome!! i actually have metallic blue acrylic paint... i would probably have to go get a matte blue for a basecoat (the metallic paints don't seem to go on very opaque) but there could be a big ol' silver lightning bolt down the middle on the front of the scooter and the helmet! and the pony could be... like, dark blue with silver hair and a silver lightning bold symbol... that's not too simplistic, is it?
 
That's a good idea, Diet. I think I'll eventually end up making my idea into a custom too.
We should all make Wild Blue customs and create a fanclub or something. XD
 
now i just have to decide whether to pay someone else to put the silver hair in, or bite the bullet and try it myself... *is scared*
 
If you need a scooter to customize, I have a spare pink one that belonged to Breezie kicking about.

I think this sounds like a fab idea, I can't wait to see what becomes of it!
 
I hear Wild Blue and I think of wind and rain, for some reason...

Maybe something like this, with a little blue and white scooter and some of that rain gear a la Rain Or Shine Garden Time... she could be the little pony with a penchant for zooming around town in the rain on her scooter, and everyone calls her weird but admires her pluck (her symbol's just some multicolored rain drops and blue mist-ish wind gusts):

that is so cute! that is a great idea for an actual pony... too bad hasbro would probably never do it. and actually, she'd be really easy to make, too, using denim blue...
 
ok, i think what i would need to properly do this custom is:
denim blue
scootaloo or lulabelle's scooter & helmet
pony-sized umbrella
glitter to sprinkle on the symbol

which, adding all that up together, is more than i can afford to spend right now (unless someone's willing to sell me the pony & scooter for cheap). :( but maybe someday down the road...

haha, good point. i wouldn't sell it, but if he'd rather keep that idea for himself, he can say so. ^__^
 
ooh, that sounds very pretty! normally i'm not into male ponies, but wild blue makes a lot of sense as pinkie pie's brother.

well, there are so many good ideas in this thread i hope they can all get made at some point! so far i'm still leaning towards ilfiore's idea (^__^) because i LOOOOOVE the rain. but i'm more broke than the sphinx's nose at this point, so maybe i'll make my parents commission it as a birthday present or something. :B
