Foxy my new dog has been with me for almost a week now. She not wanting to eat or at least eat much in the way of food.
Our dog eat a different brand and I am having a hard time tracking down the brand My mom friend used so I can transection her over to our brand. Also her old owner used to make this "gravy" for her dog out of sweet potato and neck bone cook down in a pan. She gave me some to put on our food to get her to eat. She at the gravy but not the food. She does eat the treats I give her and will eat ham and cut up hotdogs. With the ham or hot dog is not much just a few pieces hot dog and maybe one piece of thin ham torn up in her food.
She went to the vet for her yearly check up and shots today. Clean bill of health. No heart worm or anything. The vet said stress is prob the cause.
She picked at the food a bit and eaten a little but it worries me to death that she not eating much. Vet said to give it time. I really don't want to make that gravy stuff It smells very bad and make me sick.
Doctor said to try canned pumpkin or can sweet potatoes.
Any advice would be great. I know she is adjusting to the house and being away from the larger group of dogs and her former humans. We are not have any trouble bonding and all but I just am worried.
Help ease my mind please. If she healthy could it just be the new environment or the dog food?
