Hi Everyone!

I've been working on this project for a few months off and on. Trying to figure out exactly what I wanted to include was the hardest part, but I feel like it is well on its way to shaping into something worthwhile. Glossi was a great platform to use since this is an experiment of sorts and I have little (other than time) invested in it. This is my first foray into a collector magazine and if you have feedback, I'd love to hear it. I plan on expanding the magazine in the future to include some past generation content, as well as possibly bringing a few other people on board to edit and write content. Plus, I've since learned that it will streamline things if I build the magazine outside of Glossi and simply import the pages and interactive page elements. As it stands, I have a bunch of raw images that can be linked by other users which isn't ideal. I wanted to keep it simple at first since I was on a bit of a learning curve. MY LITTLE PONY COLLECTOR Magazine seemed like the perfect compliment to my other MLP related endeavors (The MY LITTLE PONY Fair and the Collector's Inventory books.) Please take a moment, if you will, to read, enjoy, and share the first MY LITTLE PONY COLLECTOR Magazine.

MY LITTLE PONY COLLECTOR - Glossi by MyLittlePonyCollector - Glossi.com

This is being submitted to Hasbro for inclusion in a MY LITTLE PONY Fan Club program, so please offer feedback. I'd love for the MLP Fan Club project I've been heading up to be green-lighted.

Thanks!

That's really fun and your collection is HUGE! I think I only saw one spelling error on the cosplay section for the word "involved." Otherwise very well written!

I loved it! If you would ever want and help with it or want other people's stories. I'm all hoofs in helping! I loved it and it was soo cute is there any way I could buy a copy of it?

This is great! I loved the articles, they were quick, fun reads. Saw the note that a photo-comic featuring MLPs might be in the works? That sounds adorable! Already looking forward to future issues. :smilepony:

VEry, very cool indeed!! Great project!

It was cute. It was hard to read where there were a lot of prepositions in spots, making it a little wordy. I also notice you like to use the word that instead of who, and that drives me bonkers. Sorry, I'm an editor, and I notice things like that.

My question to you is: What would the content be of future publications? This first one was a bit self-indulgent. Are all of them going to be along the lines of collectors growing up with My Little Pony? Or are they going to be real people with My Little Pony in their busy lives? Because, to me, that seems more interesting. Like, you wouldn't think that the doctor, who works so hard day in and day out, collects My Little Pony. Or the veterinarian who can't wait to get back home to her family and her collection of toy and real horses. To me, that is the story.

Just food for thought. I'm not trying to take away anything from your magazine, because I think you did a great job, I really do. It looks as if you put hours into it and it was well worth it.

Oh wow, I love you're collection! You have so many beautiful ponies. It was lovely put up together, thanks for sharing this. Hopefully I'll get to visit the fair one of these days. :smilepony:

This is an interesting point of view. I think that most collectors aren't really defined by the fact that they collect ponies. Everyone has a career, attends school, or takes care of family at home. Personally, I would not be interested in hearing about someone's life as a doctor with "oh yeah, I collect ponies" thrown in. If collector biography articles would be included, it would be cool to hear more details about what makes them "different", but still pertains to MLP (someone who only collects variations of Minty, someone who only collects MOC, or more background info on the reasons behind the collection), but I think if the story focuses on the non-pony-related aspects of the person, it would lose interest of the broader audience.

Another angle about Pony collecting might be how they affected one's career or life. Did that person become an artist due to their love of Ponies and Pony art? A vet? Perhaps even a jockey? Heck, even a ty store owner who uses their job as a way to get more toys!

I'm sure there's lots of professions that might be related to a person' love for MLP. I know that they certainly inflamed my already existing passion for horses in such a way that my life long dream was to rescue hurt, elderly or abused equines. Now that idea has become reality, and I've expanded to include any animal I can handle, but I can easily attribute the orginal idea to my enduring love for My Little Pony. I bet my bottom dollar I'm not the only shelter/sanctuary owner that was inspired in such a fasion.

Might be food for thought. Who has a MLP related profession?
