Last weekend I took a four day trip over to Suriname (a country just above Brazil between Guyana and French Guinea) and thought I should share pics of the ponies I found! I bought nothing since I was traveling with just a carry on, but was tempted with the Fakies.

Bit of back ground - Suriname is a South America Country, mostly Dutch speaking. They deal in Euro, US and Surinamese Dollars (about 3 Suriname $ = 1 US dollar). I was blown away by how modern everything was - and the amount of toy stores! I only managed to see one area of the main town (Paramaribo) and came across three different toy stores - all sorta within walking distance of each other. Sadly, I missed going into the third one - which looked as if it were a high end Chinese Toy store with Chinese Barbie Dolls. The other two were very pretty large and well stocked. One had an impressive European Candy section, with so much chocolate! And Ponies at everyone!!!

This was the from the First Toy store I came across.

Here's some Fakies I found in a downtown discount store. I kinda regret not buying a set, because those eyes! Fake, but still cute.

And lastly here is the pony selection in the final toy store where I found all the chocolates.

Since I don't really collect G4's I've no idea if any of this is common or rare (or even a good price!) - so I bought nothing.

Wow, those fakies are flirting hard with a lawsuit from their packaging! But I have to admit...they are hilariously awesome in their own way. Cool finds, thanks for sharing!

I would totally buy all of them! A cute pony is a cute pony!

Excellent! Lots of nice ponies!

Its interesting to me they are still selling one of those Newborn Cuties MIB. My bucket list idea is to travel the whole world, every market, thrifty place and who knows where else in search of rare ponies. It will take me years. By the time I get back in town I will be an old lady. LOL

Sounds like a good idea! Of course today I feel like an old lady anyway so i guess I'll need Action hank to wheelchair me through these exotic bazaars once we can actually afford to get there.

Looking at the fakies again, I just desperately want some of them. And I want Hasbro to take a hard look at them. They have different expressions and poses! I would like to see this kind of variety with MLP again.

Yea me too. MLP has just gotten all messed up creativity wise. I will also be in a wheelchair, I am going to get a race car style. LOL there is no way even at this point I could walk a bazaar much less travel without major supportive devices on my end. I feel extremely old body wise due to my illness, but very young mind wise LOL.

I do wish we could find something to fix you up! I'll gather the Dragonballs and make a wish. If it's in a cartoon, it has to be real right?

@evilbunnyfoofoo

Sure, I was so certain that I could fly up in the air with an umbrella after watching Mary Poppins as a child. I grabbed my trusty clear child's size umbrella, headed outside, climbed the tree, opened the umbrella with my bff watching it total faith. I leaped from the tree, the umbrella inverted and I fell to the ground extremely disappointed. I did not get hurt but I learned that day that Its ALL a LiE. ROFLOL

Life a oftentimes a rotten, bitter cherry.

Let's be grumpy about it!

I was that day. I was mad. In fact I boycotted anything to do with Mary Poppins for years after that. She did me wrong.
