My Little Avengers

For my first custom ponies, I thought I would start small -- literally. With a batch of G3 ponies off of ebay, I had a set of 4 McDonald's Happy Meal ponies. What else comes in sets of four? Superhero team-ups!

Iron Man was my favorite to work on and my first time using Apoxie, but I think Captain America turned out the best.

I also had a lot of fun working on Thor. His "chainmail" is actually scraps from a torn window screen glued down and painted silver.

For Hulk, I followed a tutorial for styling G4 Twilight's hair to give him that short 'do.

Iron Man's tail is made from jewelry wire while the others have hair from dollyhair.

Thanks for taking a look!

Wow I continue to be amazed at all the talent on this site, these are fantastic!

Thank you, Hunniebun. :) It was seeing some of the amazing work here that inspired me to start customizing.

Oh my gosh!

Not only are the customs themselves spectacular...but the way you presented your photos as comic book panels is just...gah!

I think Iron Man is my favourite. Using jewellery wire for his tail? Sheer brilliance!

They look awesome! I love Thor, using window screening as imitation chain mail is a brilliant idea! Very well thought out and they look great!

Awesome! Thor is definitely my favorite!

Happened completely by accident, actually. I just happened taking out the trash and noticed the torn screen and thought "There has to be a way I can use that." So I was washing a small scrap to put in my junk drawer and realized the mesh would be the perfect size for mini-pony chainmail.

Gluing it down at the right angle was a pain, though. ;)

*blushes* Thank you. The wire was purchased for rehairing but it's proved useful in so many ways.

And comic book heroes deserve comic book pages, right? It just felt like the perfect way to present them.

(I still need to figure out the advanced settings on my camera but I'm happy with the pics for now)

I wish i could have these little cute Avengers at my home.

That's one of the best compliments I've ever heard. Thanks, Mable.

BTW, I've up them up for sale as a set in my Etsy shop along with another custom pony. Just search for jaywolff

These are SO AMAZING. My sister and I are super avenger nerds and these are just stunning. Fantastic job. Love the idea of making even iron man's tail out of metal, and captain america really does look great. I can't believe this is your first time using apoxie sculpt, I never would have guessed! Have you considered selling them?

I've used other clays before so it's not the first time I've done sculpting. Just the first time for both Apoxie and ponies.

And they're already sold, within days of being put up on my etsy store. Faster than any plushies I've ever done!

These are your first customs?! *falls over stunned*
I anxiously await more customs from you! DO SOME MORE!

OKAY! :D I've got two others (full size, non-superhero themes) I'll be posting this weekend.
Thanks for the compliment!

OMG! LURVE THEM!!!

(but especially Thor... but that's just cause I love anything that references Norse Mythology - even the comic book version of it)
