I'm so excited to have her!!

I grew up watching the show and the movies but when I started collecting I only focused on gen 4. Lately, I've been changing focus on gen 1 and I decided to finally go ahead and buy a few ponies (she's the first to arrive) .

What is enticing to me about collecting gen 1 is that the ponies have so much personality in their appearance. I have always stayed clear of gen 4 brushables since to me they look like their made from the same mold just with different colored hair and cutie marks (where's the fun in that?)

Ive also have been collecting the funkos since 2011 and it's getting exhausting and expensive to be keeping up with all the releases. I look forward to having a new gen to collect and learn about. I even bought a bait firefoy to try and restore!

Has anyone else here ever been inspired to collect a different gen pony? What was the reason?
 
Congratulations! You have a big new world ahead of you. Sooo many beautiful G1s to choose from.

Actually I was inspired to buy G4s by Action Hank. After losing so many of my Ponies to theft, I just gave up and stopped caring for a bit, then Hank spotted a G4 Rainbow at a garage sale. She was so cute, and he was really taken with her. I decided right then to leap back into collecting and I'm so glad I did. I love all gens, and have really put a dent in replacing what I lost. And I have this great hobby to share with my son!

It's win/win!
 
Oh congrats! She looks nice^^. I have only collectedf g1 because I feel they are the custest ;) But some reason looking for g3 ponies for the swaps etc. I drawn to them too! Not bought any for me.... yet.
 
Sky Dancer is so pretty, a nice choice for your first G1 :) congratulations

I've always been a big G1 fan but the sheer cuteness of some of the G3's lured me in, I got some for my little nieces to play with when they visited me and it was all down hill from there

Congrats! For newer collectors, your first of any new Gen is always special. Especially G1s. ;)

There are so many beautiful ponies and Skydancer is an especially lovely girl. I have her myself. Can't wait to see the rest of your darlings and Tula is right, you will never go wrong with a Rainbow Pony. :D
