So, last night, I suddenly felt in a creative mood. I broke out one of my boyfriend's fakies and his acrylic paints and got to work. Here's what I came up with:
I basically just removed the tail and started painting her blue. Then I realized that the blue kinda looked like an outfit, and I didn't want to paint her head much. I styled and cut her hair, and then realized she looked like she'd been through a lot. I re-painted parts of her body red to emphasize the fact that the blue is an outfit, and it is torn. I painted an "01" (she is my first custom, after all) on her flanks. Then I realized that one of the rips is over where her cutie mark should be; I made it a leaf.
So, my idea for this OC is that she doesn't have any of her memories due to some odd experimentation done on her in an Aperture Science-esque facility, and now she's found herself again in normal society, and isn't sure how to cope. I went in without a plan at all, but I kinda like what I ended up with.
Here's the thing, though: It doesn't show up well in the pics, but her paint job is crap. How do you get acrylics to go on smooth? Any other tips for a beginner customizer?
