A while back, I mentioned that I inherited a handful of old Hasbro toys from my cousin. One of them was a Fairy Tails bird, Tinsel Tails, to be exact. She, along with the others were inside a container in my late grandparents' house, which unfortunately got a hole punched through the roof during Katrina several years back, and is pretty much unsalvageable now. Fortunately, these guys were in a container, so they were protected from it for the most part.
Tinsel Tails was in fairly good shape, save for her hair. Tangled and frizzy, she was in desperate need of a new hair-do. I didn't have anything big enough for simple curls, but I did have some straws so I decided to give her ringlets. I gave her a Dawn dish detergent bath, used the ringlets process over at Ponyland Press, and let her dry over night. She turned out beautifully.
Just to show her off:
I didn't have any ribbon in her original color, but my mom had a really pretty sheer lavender ribbon, so I decided to use it for her head hair. I had planned on just having one ringlet lock on both the head and tail, but while I was trying to wrap her hair around the straw, both sets of hair decided to split on me. I couldn't get them back together, so I just said the heck with it, and did two ringlets on each set.
Since I don't have her original stand, she's currently using Grubby's antenna as such.
I have some more before, during, and after pictures over at my Photobucket if anyone wants to take a gander at them.
