I have limited space at my place, so I left my Dream Castle with my mom temporarily. Today she tells me that the Dream Castle fell off of the shelf it was on and smashed to the ground. Oh no! She felt so bad, and she wasn't in the room when it happened... So first of all, does that mean we have a ghost? One that doesn't like ponies?!? Of course I'm pretty bummed out, this was my castle from when I was a kid and some parts have shattered in pieces, no clean breaks that I can glue back together. I am trying to be positive, I've been kind of depressed lately and in the grand scheme of things this isn't that bad, but on the other hand, my castle is broken darn it and I am pretty upset :(

Check out the picture and let me know what you think, can I repair it somehow? If not, what do I do with it, I feel bad throwing it out but don't want to just keep it... Any suggestions?

Oh, no!! Looking at it I'm not sure if/how it could be repaired but I've seen some people here doing some pretty amazing restores.

That breaks my heart to see a beloved toy break I am so sorry your castle is broken. :xmashug:

oh wow! how sad. Im in shock. I had one too as a child but I gave mine away. Anyhow I hope yours can get glued back on. :/

Oh no! I'm so sorry.

If the plastic is warped you could try heating it by dipping it in boiling water until it becomes flexible enough to bend back. If you are missing pieces you can use sculpy to fill in gaps. I've made some customs, but haven't worked on a playset before & that plastic is certainly different from the pony pvc. Make sure you test in small inconspicuous areas & take your time if your going to do it yourself. Also, definitely do as much research as possible before starting as I'm sure it holds so much sentimental value.

Maybe try asking for advice in the customs area. Hopefully someone that has experience repairing mlp play sets can give you better advice.

I hope someone can help you revive it back it's former glory.

Darn pony-hating ghosts!! I hope you are able to fix it up again. Either way, I would suggest holding on to it - if you can't fix it now, you might be able to in the future, and it's got sentimental value for you.

Thanks for the replies, I was ready to throw it out but I will try to glue it and make it look nice again: the plastic isn't warped it's cracked and it shattered in a few places. The biggest problem is that a lot of the broken pieces were very small, so all I could do is sweep them up and throw them out. I think I can make it look OK :)

Oh man that is just the worst. I am so sorry. I need to replace my castle since mine has issues. I am all for restoring it if you can.

As luck would have it, mine has just gone through a similar fate and fallen yesterday. I was extremely lucky that the damage was relatively minor, but there were four breaks that I've repaired with a product called Liquid Fusion. You can find it at Michael's with the rest of the glues. This stuff is genius and probably the most useful addition to my craft/repair kit in years.

Good luck!

I have some pretty good epoxy glue, but the worst part is that a huge piece seems to have shattered into a million tiny pieces so I had to throw it away. Basically I have a big hole where a piece of plastic should be, if I want to make it look nice I will have to rebuild. I was thinking of using sculpty or something...

I am so sorry, it's awful when a beloved part of your collection is damaged! If you do sculpt a new section for the big shattered piece, you could always hide it by gluing little tiny flowers and leaves all over that section, you could also glue them to the other glued sections too, if you want, to hide them. I know if it was me, I would have to hide the broken areas somehow or I would always see them and nothing else.

I like the idea of glueing flowers on the broken bits, that might actually look pretty and a lot better than a cracked castle, thank you!
