I finally got around to getting watermarked scans of some recent pony art I've done. So far, these have all been gifts, but I'm starting to do a little commission work. I don't have a whole lot of time for it, but I do enjoy it a lot.
I won't post who the current owners are of the artwork, but if you'd like to claim yours, feel free
Title: Birth (Tux, Gypsy & Baby)
Size: approx 10" x 10"?
Media: Watercolors on arches watercolor paper
Notes: This is the first official MLP artpiece I've done in this style. I liked it so much that I decided to keep my style similar to it. The baby isn't a particular pony and I know it's a little different to have a blue earth pony and orange unicorn give birth to a green pegasus but I wanted the colors to stand out against each other. Plus, I associate springtime and new births with green. The pony choices, details on the ponies and background design are all personal elements of the current owner.
Title: Majesty & Spike
Size: approx 17" x 11"
Media: Pastel pencils on arches paper
Notes: The 2nd MLP piece I've done in this style. The sketch for this piece was laid out weeks before the MLP Fair this summer but I didn't get around to coloring it till the night before we left. I'm so glad I decided to finish it - it got 1st place in the Drawing contest.
Title: Rainbow Magic (aka Ringlets
Size: approx 14" x 11"
Media: Pastel pencils on arches paper
Notes: This was done as a welcome present for a pony friend I finally got to meet in person. The cat is her family pet. I wanted to keep the gracefulness of the pony style I'd been working with but also have that cutesy playful element in there.
Title: Streaky
Size: approx 11" x 14"
Media: Pastel pencils on arches paper
Notes: I did this one as a thank-you for someone that got me some special pony items Streaky is one of her favorite ponies, so I experimented with a more active pose than I had done in the past. She also looks younger than the other ponies I've done.
Title: Babies Diamond & Sapphire
Size: approx 13" x 15"
Media: Pastel pencils on arches paper
Notes: A birthday present for a friend. The ponies as well as the background structure have special meaning to this person. My first MLP piece with an actual background setting, although still not a full background. I like keeping it simple with the focus on the ponies. The style is more sweet, with the ponies being younger.
Enjoy!
