MLPTP "Back to School" Discussion

Ok, first off, LOVING THE PICS SO FAR!

Second. HELP! I can't upload my images. They're too big, and I get a pop up window telling me they're too big, but not what the maximum size is. When Itried to share them from FLickr, they're almost too small to see. HELP! lol What do I need to resize them down to? Otherwise, all I can do is link to the Flickr page where they reside. EIther that or I am Techno Dumbo. *flaps ears**trumpets sadly*

I just resized an image yesterday using Paint and think I sized it down to 800 Pixels in the biggest direction? That seemed to load fine... though I may have loaded it from Photobucket and not directly to the TP. Perhaps Jewel can chime in here, as she knows more about the site requirements than I do....

THanks CJ. I found another thing to do on flickr that might work. Looks like there's a drop down list of sizes for the BB code...

ETA: that seems to have done the trick. Now the question is, is what I did "allowed"? If not, I will redo (if that is allowed? LOL Soooo many questions)

Ugh WHY CAN'T I SKIP 2 DAYS SO THAT THE NEW ASSIGNMENT CAN BE POSTED AGGGGHHH

ETA: just another clarifying question. I wrote (hand written, not added text to the photo, so it's part of the actual image) something on the background of my picture, kind of a caption. I'm confused about what we're allowed and not allowed as far as words. YEah. Dumbo. Just plain ole Dumbo. :p

Maximum Attachment size is 1024k in actual file size. There are no dimension restrictions as the software will automatically resize to fit the post.

Here is a pic resizer if you need

http://www.picresize.com/

You can also insert a line of text above your photo this is in lieu of the Post Title.

So far I've got one picture. I can't do the other until I buy an red apple!

I have yet another question. :rolleyespony:
Are the extra credit photos judged using the same three categories as the main challenge, or does everyone just recieve the same amount of points for simply completing it?

Moondream, I love the multi-generational classroom you have going on there in your first submission! Very fun!

Thank you very much! I just wish I could have some gen 2 or 4 fillies in the picture to round it out.

I really dig your first pic DialgaBritesMom! I don't know anything about Doctor Who but the scene is super cute :)

The bonus picture doesn't have to have an apple in it, does it?

YES *facepalm* THIS IS THE APPLE ASSIGNMENT. APPPLLLLEEEE.
'Bonus Photo: Pony in a lunchbox' means that the bonus photo must include a pony in a lunchbox. Nothing about an apple in that section.

Resizing is absolutely allowed :) If anyone is having trouble resizing their photos, feel free to email them to me and I'd be happy to do it for you (mustbejewel @ gmail.com)

Extra credit assignments are + 3 points to anyone who completes it :)

The extra credit assignment is a separate photo and does not need to have an apple unless specified :)

:):):)
Phew!:) (I can't remove the smileys?)

Ok I think I'm completely understanding this now.

actually, (and I didn't make it clear, sorry!) I wanted to know if what I did with the words (handwritten on the background prop) is "allowed". Now that it is known that we can post "one line of text" by the image in lieu of a post subject, that's what I *would* have done (and will for future pics) but... Anyway, there ya go. Is it ok as stands, or should I exterminate re-do it?

Ah ha ha ha, Sweettooth's lunchbox pic! Those are some hungry, messy ponies! :-D

I was wondering that too. Are we allowed to add a subject if we haven't already?

^.^

I've gone and messed with Photobucket and now my images won't show. Would it be alright if reposted the same images so they're back on the board? I haven't changed anything in the picture, just moved the picture to an album.

You're totally fine :) That rule is in place just so that 1) Nothing is added after you take the photo and 2) so that you don't try to pass off a photo of an object as an actual object. :) Aside that, go nuts! :winkpony:

Go right ahead :) Just so long as you don't change your original entry photo.

Technical problems do happen, so just do what you gotta do ;) We understand :)
