So a few weeks ago I was doing my usual prowl about on eBay, looking for mislabled G1 ponies (because they always sell for a lot cheaper than those marked as vintage or G1) and I stumbled upon a listing named 'My Little Pony Accessories'.
My first thought was that they were G3 accessories because I first spotted a G3 comb, but then something in the background of the picture caught my eye. It was a G1 box.
The photo was very blurry (the only thing in focus was a cat sprawled on its back at the front of the photo) and so I couldn't quite see what it really was, and the description said the exact same as the listing title.
I decided to take a gamble because the starting price was only 99p, and who doesn't love a cheap bargain. There was a last second bidding war between me and another person, but in the end I payed £5,50 for it all and it finally arrived today...:
It's the Crimp'n'Curl Salon (Perm Shoppe)!
(The ponies in the last two photos didn't come with the lot, I'm just using them as models)
As you can imagine, I was pretty shocked when the post man handed me this huge box! I was just expecting some accessories from the salon, not the entire thing, including its original box!
It is about 95% there, its only missing the towel rack, two large curlers, and the apron and bonnet. Oh and the other orange ribbon and Fifi's mint comb. I also got the barrettes and the pink flower brush, but I forgot to photograph them. (It also came with two G2 McDonald's toys and a G3 brush)
Everything else is there and the salon is in almost perfect condition, there's only a chip out of the right front door. The whole salon needs slotting together properly, but I'm too afraid to apply too much pressure just in case the plastic snaps. The shower attachment still works too!
I was also very excited when I spotted some baby pony clothes and Cherry Sweets apron! My mum helped me unbox the entire thing and became very nostalgic over the raincoat and the tennis cap as she had them both as a kid too, she said she felt like she was reliving Christmas mornings!
I think that this was honestly the best £5.50 I have ever spent in my life.
(P.S. my kittens, Dobby and Mrs Norris, are loving the big box it all came in. My mum turned it into a play house for them and as of yet they haven't come out...)
