MD Pony Meet 2012
Photos and Reviews!
Photos and Reviews!
As you all saw on meet day, I hired a close friend of mine to be our
wandering photographer throughout the day, since
I'm always too busy to take pictures myself.
And so, I didn't take any of these myself, and you all might need to help me identify people's artwork, tables, etc.
Beginning of the day, everyone begins to arrive and set up.
Those tall silver things are heaters, since meet day was much chillier than usual!

The FREE table begins to accumulate some interesting things...
This year's littlest meet-goer
Adorable Newborn Baby Brother customs by HeftySmurf76
Things start to pick up around mid-morning.
Custom plushes by Anitas_Mom (MoonStars) are always a hit!
Look at those fancy hairstyles!!
For our Ask Princess Celestia mini-game, Kar Red Roses donated an adorable Smarty-Pants-style "mailmare" Derpy Hooves / Ditzy Doo for our display.
Prize table
Despite being so overcast, it was actually bright outside, which makes the tent look dark from this perspective.
Kar Red Roses' full lifesize Smarty-Pants doll also joined us at the meet.
Corpsey-Puff's adorable (yet spooky!) My Little Demon artwork display.
Even AJ took a break from work on the farm to join us in Maryland!
Alas, the meet CAN be a tiring experience...
For some reason, I don't have actual photos of the Elements of Harmony by Skippety-Doo! :frown: Does anyone have a photo? They were so cute!!
My Little Pony Collector's Inventory books by Summer Hayes -- I have all of them!
Oo, I wonder who those handsome boys went home with!
Some of the custom contest entries--this year's theme was Candy!
.....?
More of Anita's Mom's plushies-- I definitely saw several of these go to new homes!
Our surprise event this year was called:
Ponyland A-Z
For this event, each participant had a pen and paper, and we then picked letters of the alphabet from a box.
Contestants had 60 seconds to write down as many official pony names as they could that began with that letter.
Sweet Tune and Lil Alley Cat tied in the initial round, and Sweet Tune ended up taking the prize by one pony! Congratulations, Sweet Tune!!
Steves_Minty brought these adorable Pinkie Pie and Twilight Sparkle-inspired cookies from her bakery in New York
Pony Cakes!
Our three pony cakes (made from a Wilton pan) before being presented to meet-goers.
They were made with care by:
Rose Rebellion (head chef)
Skippety-Doo (sous-chef)
and MustBeJewel (curious onlooker / hey-can-I-do-Derpy's-eye?)
^ Before icing ^
G2 Morning Glory
G4 Derpy Hooves / Ditzy Doo
G1 Ice Crystal
Supplemental cake because people seemed to be hesitant to cut into the pony ones.
Sea Pony Quarter Toss
With new sea pony standups made by Rose Rebellion and myself, the sea pony quarter toss game was looking better than ever this year!
Each participant could drop a quarter into the top, and try to land it on one of the pedestals:
Applejack's Apple Toss
This new game for 2012 was developed by me (MBJ) and brought to fruition with the help of:
Skippety-Doo
Willow
Hindsight
with final coats by Anoriel and myself.
The game stands several feet tall and several feet wide, and consists of three different sized holes for people to toss apples into. Kudos to my step-brother for doing all the jig-sawing for us. k:
The "Apples" we used are actually stress-relief apples :apple:
MD Pony Meet Scooter Race
One of the yearly highlights, for sure! :woot:
Willow's MLP Bullseye
Developed, produced, and run by Willow
Nerf guns are awesome.
In case of emergency, pony standups can be used for sniper barricades.
Custom Contest
This year: CANDY! :e5:
The Custom Contest was run and maintained by the lovely Skippety-Doo
I love how diverse all the entries are!
Smile, everyone!
Now smile silly! :394:
Our lucky raffle winner, who now has her very own
Prince Shining Armor and Princess Cadence!!
Pony Karaoke
A last-minute addition, this karaoke DVD I made has about 17 different songs on it, all with the vocals removed and most with lyrics on screen.
As always, the FREE table had some... interesting donations by the end of the meet. :hysterical:
Whoever donated the dinosaur skeleton... I love you.
NOTE: All contents of the FREE table will be auctioned off via Ebay to benefit St. Jude's Children's Hospital within the next few weeks.
:Bighug:
Thanks for all your help, everyone!
Feel free to contribute your own photos, comments, and memories to this thread!!
