Hi all! I bought an MLP lot last summer at the flea market, but I'm only just now cleaning everything up. I washed the g1 ponies last week, but I'm not sure what to do about the g4 plushies.

For context, I got 5 Aurora 10 inch plushies (example here): Rainbow, Applejack, Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie. Despite being a plushie collector I am pretty bad about washing my plushies and keeping them clean so I really don't know what the best way to proceed is. The ones I bought are *insanely* dirty, so I would prefer to machine wash first and then do a hand wash to get rid of any remaining marks, but I've never actually washed plushies in the machine before so I'm kinda scared!

I was reading a Reddit thread about washing this brand, but it's pretty old so I wanted to ask if any of you have personal experience washing these specific plushies.

I do not personally have experience washing this specific type of plushie. However, it looks like this plushie has some metallic looking fabric as part of its mane/tail? I'm not sure if that is just the photo and it just has solid colored mane and tail made of fabric. If it's the case that the fabric is of that "metallic" material, I'd personally suggest washing it in a pillow case with the water at a cold temperature to prevent this type of fabric from being damaged. If it is just my eyes playing tricks on me, I would still suggest washing the plush in a pillow case on a delicate setting with cool/cold water. Good luck!

You are right about the "metallic" fabric, they all have some as a part of their mane/tail. I ended up washing them in the pillowcases on hand wash like you recommended and they cleaned up with no damage! Here they are sunbathing :)
