Hi guys - I haven't posted in ages because I have really gotten out of pony collecting. I'm guessing many of us sort of lost interest when the core 7 started. I just spotted the new designed stuff in stores while out shopping this weekend and thought "Wow... are they redesigning everything?" Looks like it, huh? I guess I am officially out of collecting at this point. The new designs are sort of growing on me, but I don't think I want to start collecting yet another bunch of newly designed ponies... maybe I'll pick up the big ol' Pinkie Pie, but I don't think I'm in need of much else. Goodness knows I have enough plastic totes full of pony stuff as it is.
Speaking of plastic totes full of pony stuff, I think I am going to sell off a big chunk of my G3 collection. I have some stuff like valentines or halloween ponies MIB; just about everything else is out of box (though I saved all the backcards/boxes.) I will probably go through the enourmous tote and pull out the stuff that doesn't strike me as "I LOVE this one."
Would there be interest here? I'm sure there are people still looking for a couple to complete their collection or a set. And is there much value difference in stuff - am I going to need to poke around and find out how much things are "worth" these days, or are they all probably going to sell for a certain amount? How much of a massive undertaking is this going to be to sell off a chunk of ponies...?
It's sorta sad to think about getting rid of a large chunk of ponies, but I think I will enjoy them sooo much more if I only have a smaller amount that I really, really love. I am probably still keeping ALL my 80's ones, of course... they will always have a very special place in my heart!
