I love to post photos of my pony collection on instagram, amongst other photos of stuff, and they are always very well received. However, today I received some hurtful comments on my post about my pony shelves. It's the first time I've got online hate about it before and it hurt me a lot. I know they are only strangers but ponies are something that make me happy, and I shouldn't have to feel like I can't post them just because of what others will say. I don't want my account private either, as that prevents me from meeting other pony folk! I guess the point of this post is, have you guys ever received any online messages that were mean about your ponies? I'm incredibly proud of my pony shelves!

I have never had this happen. I heard a teen once say something profound. She said, "hate is everywhere, its on my you tube comments, its on my twitter, its on my facebook fan page and I just let it roll off me like butter. Cause there are always going to be haters with serious issues and who needs that to spoil my fun."
I have never forgotten this. Its so true. There will always be people that hate what we love in the world. Be strong in what you like and just ignore the comments. I think the more you ignore them the less they will affect you. Hugs to you! Its not an easy thing I know. I have had other hateful things done to me because some folks don't understand me. Oh well, what can I do? Probably nothing about them. Sometimes people are rude because they can be and its fun to them.

If you always do what interests you, at least one person is pleased- Kathrine Hepburn.

I have gotton some hateful words but on my bjd dolls not pony. I agree that you can't please every one some one will always hate something. I like the quote above its very true. You like to post the pic who cares what one person say just know it makes you happy.

I have had some teasing, but it was the gentle teasing of a friend who loves me, yet doesn't understand my love of Ponies. People need to realize that not everyone shares the same interests and we're not always going to see eye to eye, but it doesn't give us carte blanche to be hateful about it. If they don't like what you post they should scroll on, not be hateful jerks about it.

I'm so sorry they were rude to you and upset you, Dragonprincess92. Sometimes people are thoughtless and purposely cruel. Don't give them the satisfaction of even responding. That lets them know they got to you and gives them a sense of power. Focus of the good things people said, and keep enjoying yourself. Who cares what some anonymous coward thinks, anyway?

Poop to them. POOP!

PS So show us your shelves! I wanna see!

thank you everyone. I guess I needed to just rant to people who I knew would definitely understand! I try not to take it to heart but when its something I'm proud of, it's hard not to feel sad about it!

PS: photo of pony shelves up in a minute!

Cute! You have every generation represented! I'm with everyone else. Some people apparently never learned, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." I don't know why people forget basic manners when posting on the Internet! Ignore the mean comments and engage with people who understand collections!

It doesn't matter what those creeps think. People today have no manners, they think it's perfectly alright to run around acting rude and nasty behind their screens where they are safe and then wonder why they aren't wanted around. Rip em a new one and block them.

If they don't like other peoples collections, then they dont have to look at it or comment on it.

I think your collection is quite lovely, looks warm and inviting. Drooling over your G3s here. Who is the big pink pony?

Well, the consensus is in: Pony Lovers > haters.

WE WIN! :lolpony:

That's a great looking collection. Maybe they just griped because they were secretly jealous. What a looooooooooser they must be! :winkpony:

I have too much love going on in my life to care anymore

Here's my philosophy.

A handful of people tell me to stop doing what I'm doing customs - wise cause my personal flair clashes with their simplistic tastes.

I have a client base of customers throwing hundreds of $$$ my way for my bead/glitter/hand-crafted diabetes of goodness detail overloaded customs.

GIVE IN TO THE DETAIL DIABETUS.

K? Problem? Good.

GIIIIIVE IIIIIIIINNNNNNNN

*twirls shiny custom Mana pony*

@LightningSilver-Light People think you should stop making customs? I think some people should bend over backwards and stick their heads in crevices. What you do is beautiful. And if it isn't to their tastes they can eat dirt and bark at the moon.

Why do some people wanna crush others' dreams? Ugh.

But your customs are a visual feast for the eyes.

They cause Detail Eye-a-betes!

Seriously though you do great work.

There is too much darkness in the world and its everywhere. People are People. I will never understand them. That's probably why I prefer a small bunch of friends over a bunch of people who could be thoughtless or superficial. I made a custom once but at the time it may not had a very nice symbol. Someone came up and tried to say my drawing sucks and not to make anymore customs. I shouldn't of responded but a friend did too and thankful that she did back me up it was nice of her.
