I just matched the colors to my available yarn and using a reference photo I freehanded it!
My biggest regret is I followed my reference photo too closely!
which resulted in me making his mouth open!
I should have done it with his mouth closed!
Unfortunately he just ended up looking like Spongegar!

I totally forgot to post my progress pictures! :O If anyone is interested, I made a really rough sketch on my phone of what kind of mothman I wanted. Then i made a black velvet onesie with closed feet, I thought fully black legs looked best. Also black velcro as a closure. The wings I made from paper then lined with black velvet and then wiring to make it sturdy. The fluffy moth collar is a seperate piece that velcros on! I painted the designs on the wings after this pic.

I wasnt sure how to do the antennae in a way that would look subtle and through just fiddling around i realized with a simple twist around the back of the ears itll stay by itself as a headpiece. :D I trimmed the wiring and wrapped the parts rhat touch the pony in a thin strip of velvet, then the fluffy parts were left as wiring I painted black then glued loose fluff too and trimmed into shape.

The sneaky clay mothman in the back of the pictures I got on etsy years ago, its soo well made!! Id highly recommend :lolpony:

this has been my absolute favorite costume yet! you got my single vote cause i didnt read and realise that i could vote for two xD
 
I was amazed by how well it fit. G2s are so small :O very impressive

Thank youuu!!! :cry::twohearts: I really appreciate the love so much!! I almost didnt realize there were two votes either lol. Awwww sorry you missed out on voting for another amazing costume! I was just so thrilled to make a costume again this year im so glad its loved!

@Twinkle-eye Thanks!! Them being so small saves on fabric money:rofl: I traced their body shape on tracing paper then make that a size bigger and cut out pieces and sew together.
