just want some feedback on my pictures

i have always wanted to be a photographer, but i never got a good camera until this summer. i posted a few pics here earlier, and now i want to share some more. please give me some feedback on them, negative aswell as positive. i need it to know what i can get better on. i have already talked to a guy about getting a job taking concert photos *crosses fingers*

please note that these pics have not been edited in any way, i haven't even cut them

I think they are great! I love the nature shots :3 What kind of camera do you use? I ask because my camera has about 12 different settings & each setting has a different purpose, ex: landscape, night, kids & pets. <--- I'd never heard of that setting until I got this camera lol. My current photo goal is to master action shots, good luck me lol. Your camera does pic up a lot of detail, so that's very good & that's all I can offer. Good luck! :3

I remember the strawberries one!
That's my favorite.

The nature ones are the best in my opinion.
I think that's your strength. You get really nice angles, and focal points.

My suggestion is to try to get more action shots. Expand your portfolio, and have a wide variety of subjects.
You're more likely to get hired, if you can do just about everything.
Try some black and white photos!
I hope you don't mind, but just for an example;

It's a personal thing, but I think it looks great like this.

Have you thought about selling any?
If you made prints, I would totally buy the strawberries one.

They're really nice pics. The nature shots are great! This is my favorite.

I've been thinking of photography as a career, as well. I've just been taking a really long time to build up a nice portfolio. My job gets in the way of that, sometimes.

and thanks julie18 (and your photos are great ). i have for now just been taking random shots. one day i figure i should go out and take some pics, and then i just do. i haven't really gone out to take a specific photo. but i do have alot of pics of my little brother and sister running around, but i thought i wouldn't post them all over the internet and some others that i again wouldn't want spread around black and white always looks great, but i usually take my pics in colour and then edit them if i want them changed, that way i always have 2 options

and if i should sell them i would let you know

I also really like the nature shots and the close-ups. However I also recommend expanding your subject matter. Perhaps try some composed stills, wide-angle landscapes, etc. But if you really want to do concerts go after that subject matter! Try taking some photos at clubs, bars, etc. Maybe you'll find something new and exciting that way.
Something me and my friends would do for fun is food-ography. :lol:
We would take close up pictures of our food so it really just becomes about color, shape and texture.

Wow cannibalcow, those are great! I've always wanted tobe able to blur the background so only the foreground was in focus (like many of your nature shots) how do you do that? I also love the one of your sister, so clear and crisp and she looks like she's having a blast!

i have a good camera, i just try to focus the shot on the front item instead of the back, just be patient i have no good explanation :santa21:
