And thus began a truly dark time, the collection had started small and then with a small spark of sentience and it became self aware and realized its purpose, to collect every thing and grow, from there it grew exponentially gathering every thing in its path, cites were covered, towns vanished, nothing could stand in it's wake. Scientist and army's were crushed beneath it before they could even react to what was happening, it kept growing collecting more and more until it covered both the land and sea, then it even blacked out the sun its self.
