Would be nice if this forum could be divided in just customs and just art, that way it would be a lot easier to go through, but that is just a though. :p
 
I think we should move on without Jenn. Seems like she kinda left us hanging. I agree that I would like to see new forums added.

while i don't expect jenn will be coming back, i agree with SS in preserving the board as it was originally intended to be. plus, it's not like this forum is SO busy that it's impossible to keep up with artwork and custom posts. ;)
 
It's not that it's confusing, it's just that it's kind of a convience for people not so interested in customs as pony art or vice versa. o.o
 
*shrug* i'm only really interested in the customs here (and a couple of people's artwork) but it's not that hard for me to just not look at the artwork threads. they're usually pretty clearly labeled.

I agree with diet. If you arent interested, it's easy to skip. I do that all the time with artwork/adoptables.
 
Yeah, I guess you're right. o.o But usually it's the questions that get me. People don't specify if it's an art question or a custom question. XD;

Yeah well then there's not much you can do, other than encourage people to specify more.
 
I think it would be nice if there was a seperate place for adoptables. It seems like there's always a lot of those threads going. Or it would also be cool if there was some kind of icon that would show up next to the titles to signify whether the post contained artwork, customs, or adoptables.

That's a good idea.
 
One of the things that I really like about the TP is its simplicity. I think it's the best thing it has going for it.

No need to change just because people don't want to bother reading titles of threads - it's not like we get THAT much traffic.

I agree. This is why the TP is the only forum I post at. I think it's great that there is so many things to do on other forums but at the same time I think it makes it more complicated.

I don't know if this type of board has post icon capabilites like Ezboard did but if it does, I think it should deffinately be considered. It would simplify things in the customs forum :D

..you know, I would kinda like a "WANT LIST" section, where Members post their want lists, and can update them. Those of you familiar with Livejournal, kind of like a "memories" section, where its easily accessable. Possibly with the ability to look up a username's list, or maybe we just keep the subject "THIS PERSON'S WANT LIST". I find myself often wanting to browse through people's want lists, but going through the "want to buy/trade" forums are painstaking. Those are fine for "I want it now" type trades, but what about long run posts?

For example. we have ponies we want to sell. Which we can still post in the WTS forum. If there was a Wantlist forum, we could do a search in that forum for a particular pony someone wants on their list. More trades and selling might get done faster, rather than waiting for people to respond to posts, there's that backup where a member can PM and tell you that they have a pony that's on your wantlist from looking in the wantlist forum. (Am I making any sense?).

And I'm sure I can go someplace else and post it, but don't point me there. Keeping up with one board is plenty for me.


Maybe we should have a thread with new forum (or just new) suggestions and ideas?
 
Sorry for posting so many times on this thread but I just had another thought about my icon idea. One thing that I remember about ezboard was when I would look through the trader feedback forum, people would use the red face icon when they had bad feedback to leave. I think that would be another great thing to have here because people don't always write "beware!" (or something along those lines) in the title when leaving feedback. Sometimes they just put a person's name so sometimes people probably don't even read them when really it's somewhat important that people do read them.
 
i do agree that post icons would be VERY helpful, in many forums, but especially the feedback and customs/artwork forums.

I think that is a great idea
 
If we are going to have different icons for feedback, I think that we should have 3 icons. One for positive, one for negative and one for neutral/ongoing (unresolved) feedback. Like ebay. Possibly 4 if we were going to separate ongoing (unresolved) feedback from neutral.

That way people who dont have the time to read everything (or if they have memory problems and therefore things dont always sink in) can quickly glance and see that xxxxx is a bad trader and should be avoided.

Far as Post icons go, yes that is a very interesting thought, Ill have to check out phpBB mods/hacks to see if any exist to do that. since yes I agree it would be an excellent idea especially for the trader FB forum..

Adding smileys and emoticons is simple on phpBB, but Ive not seen anything as yet that allows them to be added to the title.. Will definately go on a hunt though...

EDIT: oohh a mod does exist to add those little icons.. Heres a demo of it...

Can you test it on just one forum maybe? You could use the testing forum or something. I have no idea how this works hehe! I haven't set up a phpbb before. Good luck, I hope it works out! :)
