Is this what I think it is? (Pic Heavy)

This is such an amazing find! One for the books I'll tell ya!
I hope you never have to sell it, definitely a prize possession :) Huge congrats on your find!

I think I have a new grail now lol!

oh yeah... she's yellow lol

Ok, so what are Tarkara ponies, and why are they so special? She's cute! It is a cool find, although I'm cluless as to the Takara legacy! Someone enlighten me!

This is what I've found from my own research. I went on a crash course in Takara when I first posted the pictures.

Takara is a Japanese toy company that acquired the license from Hasbro to produce My Little Pony's in Japan.

To make them more appealing to the Japanese market they were drastically redesigned into what you see in the pictures. From the extreme rarity of the ponies its assumed that they ponies didn't sell very well, leading to them being produced for a very short window of time. That exact window isn't known but its presumed to be about a year.

So far only Adult genuine Takara ponies have been found. All the babies found have been fakies. Genuine Babies are assumed to have existed at one point for two reasons:

1) They were advertised in a commercial and were shown on the back of one of the adult Takara boxes.

2) Some of the fakie babies bear the Takara LTD 1985 stamp leading Collectors of the fakies to believe that a Baby mold was made, and either stolen or purchased cheaply once Takara decided to discontinue their My Little Pony line.

There are two known Adult Takara's. Milky who is yellow and white and Pinky who is cream coloured.

On the back of the box is shown a couple different hair colours each for Milky and Pinky, and one variant of Pinky with very curly permed hair.

A loose Pinky with curly hair has been found but I don't believe one MIB has been found yet.

They are considered so special because of their extreme rarity and the fact that they are a little piece of Pony History. They were made for such a short time, and then never again.

I drooled over at the arena, and I'll drool here too. You are such a lucky pony. :)

Thank you, Josiekat.

O M G! :eek:mg: :eeek:

What an incredibly lucky find! Keep picking up those pennies!!

$1k to $3k? Probably right now with the economy but I can see me selling my doll collection, car etc to go higher in a bidding war on that one! Ramen noodles for a year, no problem!! lol

3k is actually the highest offer I've received for her so far. I have no plans to sell her, though.

She's my first Christmas present from my boyfriend!
