Is It Just Me? Or Do People Think MLP Is Gold?

There's a vintage suit case on Ebay right now.. person is asking $1000!! I have one just like it.. but OOOOH!! IT'S SO RARE!

LOL Ianthe99.... :)

I have seen TE Bright Eyes go for a good price, though. Not nearly as good as Mimic, but fairly well in her own right. I doubt I could make much with mine, but she's special to me, and that's what matters most. :)

There is an eBay auction at present for a nirvana, it's Greek yellow Twilight with green hair in Glory's pose. The seller is asking over $2000 for her! I never knew nirvanas were worth so much. So much for me attempting to collect them :eeek:
I don't know about you, but although she is a rare gem, that is a LOT of money for a plastic pony, lovely as she may be.

This it tricky beacase usually if they are well over prioced i ignore no matter how much i want the item but secondly there are the resonably priced ponies out there.

Now if you were talking about Monster high dolls OMG!!!! I have never seen a holt hyde doll and they usually up near 80 english pounds,

I sold all mine because it was getting ridiculous. Yesterday i saw a toreli doll opened so not mint got for 80 english pounds, she coss 22 new when i got her. and the gil webber. I had him he cost 12 pound, bidding war happened he want to 55 they are now going for 120 what is going on i think the toy manufacturors need to produce more and stop this madness.

I just saw an ebay auction for a Celestia gold foil pony card for $80.00 ... come on now.... really????

well when folks are sometimes willing to spend $1000 on a pony fursuit of rainbow dash or have you seen the price of some of those FiM plushies (??!) it is not surprising for folks to than think that everything pony must be amazingly sought after...

some nirvana can get pricey = I sold a OOAK venezuelan pony for well over $1000 so I have to live with I will never see that pony on my shelves again (which I was fine with = you can imagine that offset is a lot of other nirvana on my shelves instead)

but yeah, some sellers do ask crazy prices = but as they say, an item is worth what a buyer will pay

It's the same here in the Netherlands with the overpricing of G1 ponies, allthough it's not as crazy yet as in the US. The thing that bothers me the most are the prices Dutch traders are asking for the Dutch ponies nowadays: they aren't actually that rare here in Holland and were sold at the time for only 3 or 4 dollars in stores. (luckily I got them all at the time, accept for Star Pony and Highlights)
But I guess there are a lot of foreign buyers who are willing to pay, just as I would for a South-African pony or a Venezuelan...

I've ran into this on a few of the Luna ponies :(

I've also noticed on plushies, while they are custom plushies, I've seen people selling plushies over $600+ and theres bidding wars over simple plushies. Or people are asking $80 for $10 plushies from Walmart because they bought them all :( I know theres some stuff I want to overpay for but some of this is getting insane! :(

Its makes me sad that in a few years when the brony fad is over theres going to be a flood of stuff from the G4 stuff. :(

I have noticed it too with the plushies. I wish others saw the G4 line the way I do and just buy to help other collectors.... but I guess that's the difference between us collectors and those out just to make a buck. It's sad.
