It seems like forever since I posted my last custom but my latest has finally arrived at her new home and I'm free to share.
Inugami was a commission for the delightful and ever so patient Izrabeth.
I believe she started out as a G3 Round-N-Round and was given purple and black gradients. Her symbols were hand painted and feature an Inugami or Japanese "dog spirit" wrapped around the pony's body. The symbols down her leg are the Japanese characters for Inugami - to be honest I'm not sure what the symbol on her forehead means but it appeared on the forehead of most of the Inugami pictures I viewed. Since I did a side view of the Inugami I decided to use the symbol on the actual pony. Does that make sense?
The entire pony was sealed using Createx matte sealer (awesome matte finish) and eyes were sealed using Triple Thick gloss (more than one coat).
She was given an extended hairline and rehaired with nylon hair from Dollyhair.com. I'm not at home right now to look at my notes but I believe the colors used are Black Magic, Sugarplum and Sea Nymph. Her hair was then styled in a bun with two braids for accent. Also, her little chop sticks are made from tooth picks.
I'm really pleased with how she turned out. This is not a subject matter I would have done on my own and I'm so happy that Izrabeth requested her.
Let me know what you think.
