Hi all! I actually signed up as a member several months ago but then never got around to introducing myself! I finally figured that it's about time that I did!
Like pretty much everyone here I'm sure, I had MLPs as a kid. Unfortunately my childhood ponies ended up getting disposed of by my parents after I moved out but I rediscovered ponies again about 10 years ago and started customizing. After a couple of years customizing I moved away from it, but I came back to it now and again over the years and I'm back full into it again the last year or so.
Anyways! Enough talking, here are a bunch of my customs from most recent to oldest:
March Birthflower rehair/restore - symbols and eyes were repainted with metallic acrylic paints and pony was rehaired with metallic sky blue, metallic wild raspberry and metallic plum. I also glued a tiny Swarovski crystal in March's birthstone aquamarine to her forehead.
Falina the frog fairy - hind legs were sculpted in Apoxie Sculpt, she was painted with acrylics, her lily pad hat was sculpted from polymer clay, her wings are iridescent cellophane and she was rehaired in 3 colors of brown nylon
Glam Nachtlicht (Nightlight) - she got a full body repaint, then darker points and I rehaired her in Nightlight's colors and painted her symbol with sparkle paints. She has a handmade moon necklace with a crystal heart and her hair was curled and then tied back with a silver ribbon
Witch Doctor Halloween swap pony - sculpted the tail from Apoxie Sculpt and Cosclay, sculpted the bone mask from Cosclay, painted with acrylics and iridescent paints, rehaired with micro braids in dark green/orange and dressed the pony using dyed cheesecloth and beads
60th Birthday Ponies - made for a set of 4 ladies who had been friends from kindergarten and were all turning 60 within a couple of months of each other. Each pony was rehaired in an approximation of each lady's hairstyle and the symbols were personalized with each lady's birthflower and interests. Each pony also had a Swarovski crystal birthstone angel necklace
Downy Chicken Pony - created for a contest with a theme of "Animals" I used the head from a Sweet Steps soft body pony. The body was sculpted using styrofoam balls and Apoxie Sculpt then painted and decorated with feathers and I finished off her eyes with false eyelashes
Black Unicorn commission - I stole a horn from a Moondancer and grafted it to a Posey then gave him an FBR and open book and rose symbols. He was rehaired in brilliant black and starlight and I wrapped the horn with silver thread and covered the seam at the base of the horn with super tiny Swarovski crystals
Purple Fairy pony commission - she got a purple pearl FBR, then I rehaired her in three colors of golden nylon and tightly braided her hair to make the waves. She has a gold necklace with a crystal heart, iridescent cellophane wings and a metallic gold symbol
Hello Kitty pony commission - no FBR on this one! I hand painted the Hello Kitty symbol, rehaired her in three colors of pink and a purple and then gave her tight ringlets with a straw boil perm
Fjord Horse - she got an FBR and dry brushed markings in several colors of brown and black. I rehaired her in black and flaxen blonde and styled her hair into the iconic Fjord Horse cut
Celeste (OC) commission - sculpted her sweater from Apoxie Sculpt, gave her an FBR and hand painted markings then rehaired her in purple and two shades of blue. I styled her hair into bangs and sculpted tiny flower magnets from polymer clay for her hair and made her little flower necklace
Caelum (OC) commission - gave her an FBR with darker points, hand painted star and stocking, rehaired her in 3 shades of white, sculpted tiny flower magnets from polymer clay for her hair and made her Swarovski crystal necklace. Her wings are wire and iridescent cellophane strengthened with UV resin
