I'm trying to wait patiently for ponies!

So this lady who has a booth at a thrift store in my area said she has a box of about 20 G1 MLPs at home in her garage. She said she would find them for me, so I could look at them, and then hopefully buy them. Well, its been about 3 weeks, and I saw her yesterday, and she hasn't looked for them yet (her garage must be packed with stuff).

So I'm trying to be patient, but I am so excited to see them. I keep thinking "which ones does she have?'', "what condition are they in?", and "are there any htf or rare ones?". The unknown is driving me nuts! LOL!

I really hope she gets them out soon, so I can buy them and then post pics!

omg, I know how you feel! Ive been back and forth with this lady on craigslist about a big plastic tote full of ponies for $10 and its been 2 weeks now and I still dont have the ponies! its crazyness!!

That waiting game is tough. But it's very rewarding when you do finally have those ponies in hand. :)

there's a toy show I've been going to for 9 years and one of the transformer sellers says 'Oh I have a bin of ponies in my house, I should bring them to the next toy show'

he's been repeating that line for each toy show for 9 years. I'll never see those ponies :(

Yeah I have a pretty pessimistic view of these kind of offers. I have been offered boxes upon boxes of ponies "as soon as I find them" for years. They almost never come through. I do however wish you the very best and hope they do come through.

wow! 9 years! thats such a long time!!

Yeah, I've heard this same line SO many times the past 10 years (my pony collecting life-span). I never see any ponies come out of any of them, either. They just keep me hanging for months until I give up. I always think with each new person saying they have "a bunch at home" they will bring or call me to meet up for will be the truth, but it never happens. :/

Don't mean to dash your dreams, but I've just been through it so many times. I get so excited wondering how many they have and which ones. Such a disappointment each time when I realize I'll never get these supposed ponies.

I hope yours ends better than my experiences! If it does, you must post a brag! :)

Next time, take his business card and a month before the show comes around, email him. If he replies, stay in touch. If he doesn't, then call. And three weeks before the show, call him again... etc LOL! If ponies are not his toy-focus, after a year goes by full of toy shows he probably just forgets which show it is that the nutty lady keeps asking for ponies. :stitch_h4h: (I bet he sees that box full of ponies in storage and scratches his head... "now which show do I need to take these to?" and then since there's not much space in his van or truck, he decides to leave them home because even if he does remember which show, you might not be there and he'll be stuck carting them home again... etc)

Hope you have better luck than me! I got a reply to a craigslist post I made where this lady said she had a suitcase full of ponies that just needed hair combing and haven't heard back from her. This was 2 months ago! I pretty much give up with that option!

Too bad for the wait. I would be excited too..

Good luck! Something like that could drive you mad :gonnagetit:
