If you had to sell your ponies, which ones would go first?

This happens a lot when real life puts problems in front of us and we are forced to sell our ponies. Have you ever thought about it?

Are there any that you would *absolutely* keep?

How would you start your sales? Would you sell your least liked first, the most expensive ones?

I would keep my childhood ponies. Hands down. And Brazil Milky Way.

I think the first ones to go would be the ones I liked the least that were also priced highly, to try to save my favorites.

What would you do?

OMG!! this is so strange! i was JUST thinking of posting a similar thread! :ducky:
i would say the first I would sell would be my G3s, other than carribean delight, beach belle, and bay breeze. the rest are easy enough to get again even CC and fair ponies.

the ones i would never sell are my Argie rainbow hair and TAFs. those are just too HTF

i think i may even be willing to sell nightlight and my dutchies... those seem to be for sale pretty often and i could get them back if i wanted.

good question! great minds think alike! :dog_dance:

This is a hard question!

Like a few have said before there is nothing in my life that I wouldn't sell before I would sell my childhood ponies. So I would never sell them anyways :p

As for others, a few favourites would be spared, NBBE Baby Gusty, Baby Buttons, Baby Dolphin, Jabber&Jebber, Rattles&Tattles, Moondream, Moonjumper and my pearly babies. And of course my customs Capa and Seabo.

I would definitely work slowly from ponies I disliked to my favourites, regardless of price. First to go would be all the sweet heart sisters I own as I despise them but won't get rid of them, "because I only have one!" or because having three goldilocks as a child has given me some kind of mental block to selling them >_> Then would go most of the G3s, there's a lot I could really never sell though. I would probably have trouble selling any of them.

I'd sell the Pony Friends, Cha Cha, Kingsly and Spunky. I always thought they were kind of ugly anyway and they usually catch a good price on eBay.

Next .... I think would be my most common ponies, like Moondancer, and my CF Earth ponies from the first year. I have like 4 Blossoms

I would probably keep all my divas, my childhood ponies and my boys.
I'd eventually maybe get rid of my exclusives if I needed the money badly, but I'd get rid of all the ones I don't like first.

well, the G3's would be the 1st to go but the nirvanas would get more money...
he ones I would never sell would be the ones that survived my mother's pony purge - cha cha the llama, princess starburst, sherbert, and sunspot

Gosh that's hard because the ones that would bring in the most money would be the hardest to replace down the track. A lot of my HTF ponies were bargains which is how I got them so for example I know I'll probably never find another $11 SS Satin N Lace or $9 Year 3 sea pony Sea Breeze again

I'd never sell any of my childhood ponies I know that for a fact or my MOC Locket but since I only collect what I really like I'd have trouble selling anybody . . . so I'd say I'd start with the G3s and then see just how desperate I still was for money and then start with my least favourite G1s and work through them that way.

I'm thankful I've never had to make this decision like lots of others have recently.

I think this thought has crossed the minds of many. In fact- I sold what was left of high value this year. That money went away quickly!
If I had to sell again, any pony that's not yellow will be out the door lol. Of course if I needed to sell my yellow ponies for emergency funds, I would. I'm not lucky enough to have any childhood ponies in my possesion but I can totally understand why some of you wouldn't part with them.

Hi,

I've sold ponies here and there.

First- I would sell any doubles (that's what I'm doing now)

Second- My G3's - rare and common

Third- G1s, but not my childhood ponies

I'm with Princess Locket. It would be hard to sell some of my rare/hard to find ponies because I have been collecting for so long that I got such an AMAZING price on them. I started buying from ebay before the G3s came out and let me tell you.... I got some great deals because it wasn't until the G3s came out that all of sudden the number of MLP collectors went through the roof. I've always kind of been annoyed at the g3s for that reason. lol

Well, if I REALLY needed money, there isn't a pony I would spare. I mean, if it is needed that badly, I would have to sacrifice.

If I only needed a smaller amount of money (a few hundred or less), I would probably try to sell either my G3's or a few G1's that would get me that loot fast. I have most of the MB's, and while I like them, I know I have many ponies I love much more. So I'd probably sell them.

I think the very last ponies I would sell are my CP ponies, my customs, and my Bluebelle army. Those are the ones with the most sentimental value to me.

I would keep all my Buttons, Wind Whistler and Beach Ball ponies. I'd also probably keep my perfume puffs, candy cane and brush and grows. There are a few other individual ponies I would keep too, like Gypsy and Barnacle, Masquerade.

TBH, I'd really struggle to sell any G1 pony. If I were that desperate for money, I'd think about letting a few customs go - I can always make another.

ETA - yes if I was truly desperate for cash and there was no alternative, only the Buttons, Wind Whistlers and Beach Balls would stay. Daffy is far more important than a bunch of plastic toys, no matter how attached to them I am.

G3's would go first....(they've already got one modern foot out the door lol) then some of the higher priced ones, then the ones I really am not *that* fond of. I would always keep my year 2 uni's and pegs since they have all there stuff and are GORGEOUS! and I would def. keep my so softs because the minty ones took about 5 upgrades each to get :catdevious:.

I'm actually in that sit. right now. The G3's are no biggie, I can sell just about any of those with no heart break. But I tried going through my G1's to pick out some that I night wanna sell. The one's that aren't my favorites and FAILED! hehe I couldn't justify selling any of them. I 'd find one and be like well, she has such loverly hair, I really like the hair and the next one was an international or something. I settled on selling my doubles and left it at that, for now....

TBH, I'd really struggle to sell any G1 pony. If I were that desperate for money, I'd think about letting a few customs go - I can always make another.

I second that as well, plus it would use up some of the double G3's and my bait box , which has the most ponies in it by far than any other box I have.

I am selling some ponies now in order to pay some bills and other christmas things. I have sold ponies before and I know from experience that most of them always come up for sale again in the future. The only ones that I regret selling are the rare nirvanas. If I could have my time back I would not have made that decision. They come up seldom on ebay or elsewhere and when they do everybody else seems to want them too!
