I recently got a G4 Luna with the shiny tinsel in the hair like this one:

I was treating her hair like I do all my ponys- with water and conditioner and tried to straighten in, but it seems the heat made the tinsel go crazy! I'm worried I've ruined her hair forever, is there a way to get the tinsel to calm down and go straight again? Thank you

I would try something along the lines of the straightening section of this. Later up the hair w/ conditioner then use an iron and ironing board to straighten it.

I would also recommend to not straighten their hair unless absolutely necessary anymore, because it is harsh to do so on nylon/plastic hair. I once was straightening a pony w/ pink hair and its hair turned white!

I use a straightening iron on low heat on tinsel slathered in conditioner. It's never failed me!

Works better on SOLID tinsel (not the clear stuff. works too, but it stays crazy)

VERY low heat with a curling iron. I dampen hair, and pick out the tinsel. work in sections. (two-three peices at a time) It's time consuming as heck, but the results are fabulous pitch straight tinsel. I just hold the tinsel straight, and lightly glide the wand of the closed iron across it. (I don't stick anything in the iron, like if you were curling).

Thanks guys, I think leaving more conditioner in and making sure the straightener wasn't as hot really helped. I'm still working on getting it just right, but it's nice to know my mistake wasn't irreversible!
