Hello all! I recently boxed up my entire collection into crates to save space before I get a pony room set up, but the biggest thing I noticed was that most of my ponies had suuuuper messy hair. It was some combination of frizzy, tangled, and kinda dried out (but thank goodness my younger self never felt the urge to cut it... *shudder*). Most of them are G3s and I was just wondering if there's some way to restore their hair to a relative neatness without rehairing altogether? Thank you! <3

I know you can use a straightener with a low heat setting for frizziness but I've never tried it. For one the straightener I had didn't have different heat settings and two I'm to big of a chicken to try it lol.

But for me I wash with them shampoo and conditioner and let the conditioner soak for awhile and then take a comb and work out the tangles and knots and wash out the conditioner. Sometimes I'll condition twice if the hair seems extra dry.

For a lot of hair, you can just simply wet the hair and work in some conditioner, and let it sit for a bit before rinsing it all out. You can also style the hair by running it under hot water, then wrapping it around hair curlers or straws, or even just around their neck/legs (held in place with squares of toilet paper; at least that's what I use c_c;; ) to dry.

The MLP Preservation Project has a whole page with tips on how to take care of hair, here.

I use heat elements on level 2 or 3. I wet the hair down, put conditioner on it really thick and then run the curl iron set on 2-3 over small amounts of strands as I comb it. Eventually it gets all the frizz out and then I use perm rods and papers to recurl overnight. I wash out the conditioner before rolling. It really is a good idea to not do big clumps of hair at once. No more than a centimeter wide of hair. You want the heat to reach every strand.

Try just shampoo and conditioner before you try using heat. Often the conditioner will be enough, and it can be easy to cause damage with the flat iron.

Try a bit of fabric softener and a straightening iron if they have very frizzy hair comb it in sections. Thats what I did with one of the Fairy tale birds I have for trade.
